Another adventure for the Brownstones
Another in the series of Brownstone stories all which deal with a different culture - this one references the Aztec. Richly illustrated with an ex libris page at the front. I had the paperback (it also comes in hardback). Large format with manga style illustrations (and also a precis of the previous adventures so you can follow the stories - but this isn't essential for the enjoyment). All of the books discuss bravery and kindness - with an element of peril but suitable for younger children. Adults will also appreciate the comic style double page format. Lots to look at and discuss.

One of the most engaging graphic novel series on the market, to be enjoyed by child + adult alike!!
I’ve been a fan of the Brownstone’s Mythical Collection series forever - and herewith is the highly-anticipated Book #5!! With gold foil and embossing on the front cover of this extremely gifty and collectable hardback first edition, you know you’re going to be in for a treat. Such care and attention to detail goes into Todd-Stanton’s work whether it’s for his own solo creations or as the illustrator for other children’s authors’ books (e.g. the Wildsmith chapter book series for younger middle grade readers or the children's non-fiction story of Darwin and Hooker). In this new adventure, the Brownstone family elder chooses to recount the story of one of “the most cunning Brownstone of them all” - Luna Brownstone. The only child of brave parents who, together as a family, come to the aid of those who need them sometimes leaving them in perilous situations, Luna starts to query in her mind the point of trying to save everyone else, when at the end of it, you can’t save yourself, or no-one comes to save you!! So, she sets off on her own, with her ‘me, myself and I’ attitude on her ‘me against the world’ mission and goes on a robbery spree of important global artefacts. Ahem!! Finding herself fin Aztec America (now Central Mexico) she eavesdrops on a special mission to save the land from drought, a mission that Luna will help to succeed for her own gain, only to realise that doing the right thing by friends and family are way more important than all the material riches she might be able to defeat Godly monsters for. Highly illustrative with a mixture of single lines of text in-between, labels and speech bubbles, this is one of the most engaging graphic novel series on the market, ever to be enjoyed by child and adult alike!!

Great graphic novel
Luna and the Treasure of Tlaloc is sublime! There's action and adventure, a strong story in graphic novel style and the most powerful message of kindness and being their for others.

Lovely book about Aztec mythological creatures.
My 7 year old loves this series. It covers that elusive area where books are adventurous but with very little peril. She really enjoys the main character in each book of this series and this latest book is no exception.

We love all of Joe Todd-Stanton's work and this one does not disappoint. With the many illustrations, these are favorites of our children for car journeys. Highly recommend.
