Works for us
We have a small chihuahua, and this has worked very well for us! A little time to put it together, but well worth it!

Wood and metal. Freestanding. Not for large dogs.
This is the most unusual dog gate I've ever seen. It is free-standing. It's basically two panels that you use the screw knobs to combine into one long panel. There are multiple holes you can use for length. It's 6-7 feet long at it's greatest length. Just the one panel is wider than my door, and you can easily put both the 'feet' on one panel (I was thinking of doing this, then figuring out a way I could mount the second panel to the top of the first - it would make it taller, but then it might be less stable and I wouldn't be able to step over it). It's made of soft wood (pine?) that is painted white. As you assemble it, you put the metal barriers in the middle of the wood frame. This will NOT stop a large dog, or a dog that can jump over it, and it may not last for a dog that can chew down the wood frame. Some of the metal inserts were not welded straight (see my pictures), which made it a little difficult to assemble, as they were hard to fit into the wood slots; but the wood is soft enough that I was able to get it in with some pressure. There is no "gate" feature; you either step over it, or you move it out of the way.Overall, it's a multi-functional barrier and does work, just not in the traditional sense. I actually like that it's free-standing because I plan to use it around my bird cage, so that my grandson can't reach the cage (he won't be able to stick his fingers in to get bit).

Terrible decision
I blame myself for not reading about the product more something I normally do but I truly hate this gate. I bought it so that my dog could go out on the front porch but it is not collapsible and I have to leave it sitting up in the middle of my living room because I have a very small home and nowhere to put it. Pain in the butt and I regret buying it

Nice sturdy gate but...
I had bought a retactable gate to try and keep my 7mo yorkie puppy in my room when I'm not home, however she just goes underneath and escapes so I decided on this gate after searching for a better solution. This gate is nice and sturdy however while putting it together I ran into a couple of issues. First is the 16 screws it takes to assemble only has screw holes on one board and not the other so it takes a lot of mussle to get the screws in, after four I was out of mussle power. It doesn't say not to use a drill but if you do be very careful as the wood that needs drilling is very thin. The other issue I had was that it comes with 2 boards labled #5 that go on the sides. These boards are suppose to have holes predrilled so you can attatch them to the main gate section but only one of my #5 boards had the needed predrilled holes. Hopefully after all the trouble it will at least solve the issue of my escaping houdini puppy.

Tiny pups can get through the wire
Gate is good quality and sturdy but will not contain a 4 pound puppy due to large opening in the bottom and top of the frame. Also had to use zip ties because plastic clips will not stay on

Looks good, is sturdy and easy to put together!
I got this gate to use in my garden to keep my chickens out of my broccoli and cabbage plants. I like that this has a wood frame. It makes it look nicer. I had watched the video in the product images and saw how easy it was to put together. I decided to jump. All pieces were accounted for and in good condition. The white paint on the wood slats wasn't even. There were some spots that needed another coat, but it's really only visible up close. I do like the white paint. It's bright and visible. Some of the wire panels also had some paint chipped off, but only a couple of spots. These weren't deal breakers for me.They're still solid and they had all the pre-drilled holes and notches required. I didn't need to drill holes, cut, squeeze or bend panels, or do anything other than put then pieces together and then drill the screws in place. I had exactly the right amount of screws, and all pieces fit together well. The instructions included were clear and accurate. I couldn't believe how easy it was. I felt like I must have done something wrong!I removed the ugly chunk of chicken wire I had blocking off my garden and put this in its place. It looks much better and is easier for me to step over than the raw wire I had blocking it. My chickens see it and walk on. We'll see how long that lasts, once the plants are bigger. They might try to get over it. I do like the fact that it's easy to move and easy to lengthen. You don't have to screw anything to attach it to your walls or doorways. It's got feet, so it stands on its own.I have a large, elderly dog with balance issues who has a hard time seeing, especially at night. He doesn't try to get through fences anymore, but he'll run into things. He's taken down a few of the wire garden fences I have tried to put up, so the hope was that he could see and avoid this gate. This white colored gate practically glows in the night. I took my dog out last night and he avoided it with ease.I don't know if this would keep a small dog or puppy from getting over, being only 21" tall. I had a black lab puppy who would climb a 36" baby gate, and she would have laughed at this, but all dogs are different. It might work for calmer dogs and really small dogs, though. I guess it depends on the dog. I know my old dog isn't going to try to get past it. It will keep my dog and my garden from intermingling.
