Animated family adventure based on the popular Japanese anime series. After the conclusion of the Battle City Tournament, deep below the sands of Egypt, an ancient evil has awakened. Anubis, who was defeated centuries ago by Yugi's mysterious alter ego - the ancient Pharaoh - has returned for revenge. Wielding the power of the Eighth Millennium Item, Anubis is determined to destroy Yugi and take over the world... Voice talents include Dan Green, Scottie Ray and Wayne Grayson.

Your worms will have to wait Anubis, I trust my fate in the Heart of the Cards!
Afer nearly a decade and a half since its rather limited cinema run and original DVD release, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie finally arrives on Blu Ray with a new remaster. The picture and audio is the best the film has looked, which is worthy enough of an upgrade. No extras, but then the DVD was lacking with limited extras (And a free card) but really Manga gave us the best they could for a movie no longer distributed by Warner Bros. No Japanese version, which is a shame as there are extra scenes in that one plus the other 2 films provided a sub.As for the film itself, its fine if you're a YGO fan and have memories watching it back in the day (If you're new, don't start here. Find the season 1 boxset and come back here if you make it past season 3.). So why only 4 stars? The film has aged a bit, merely because the recent Darkside of Dimensions movie is a much better movie. This movie is mostly a US production and merely nothing more than a filler film to sell more cards. The Darkside film is more story driven and actually takes place after the original series, so it feels like reuniting with old friends again after so long away with Yugi and his friends. The difference between the 2 films is like night and day. This film is still better than the Bonds Beyond Time movie at least.Either way, its still good nostalgic fun for the fans and only the fans.

Seems like an extended episode
Well for being a movie the story is really subpar as it's just not as epic as it sounds. They really try to hype up the story by calling it the "final battle" but really it's anything but.Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie's animation really isn't up to standard for being "Movie", primarily because it was a US Production and all the animation was cheaply done. Also the music through the movie isn't really good and makes it seem like an extended episode, also the english dub is really painful to listen to as theres lots of corny dialogue and references to other children cartoons.Audio:English 5.1German 5.1Arabic 5.1Subtitles:English and Hearing Impaired, German and Hearing Impaired, Arabic,Extras:Two Music VideosCard GameTrailer

Long overdue
This release from Manga UK is long overdue. Warner Bros' old PAL DVD release has been around for over a decade, but after a theatrical re-release earlier this year, Manga have brought out a blu-ray release with the new master. The video quality is impeccable with bold line art and vibrant colours. The audio quality is an improvement as well, but it's the visuals that this release is worth buying for.

Good.
Good film. In relation to the series, it's just filler. It's never reference in season 4 & 5. But, like me, you want to buy this and add to the collection then go for it!
