Gorgeous and eccentric!
What a remarkable, beautifully made picture book of amazingly fanciful handcrafts by a true fabric artist! Read about this in the wonderful Faerie magazine, and just had to get it. Not an inexpensive book, but for me, a GREAT find!I appreciate the close-up shots of these amazingly fairy-like, beautifully hand-crafted creatures of nature. This is not a written word book, pretty much just photo after photo of Mister Finch's fantastic artistry.., which speaks for itself. The giant moth he crafted is astonishing!I don't need lots of words...I need visual inspiration, and this book provides this for me in spades. This is truly a niche-market book, but for eclectic, fantasy-based fabric artists like me out there, this is a great addition to our library of art books!

Beautiful… but
I was kind of surprised when I thumbed through this book. For the price, much felt redundant. I thought I’d feel more of a creative edge to inspire me. It’s not that the images are not beautiful, they are, but not what I’d hoped for inspiration wise.

Finch has such a wonderful vision: the crafts are stunning and the photographs ...
So much inspiration in this book! Mr. Finch has such a wonderful vision: the crafts are stunning and the photographs are art as well. I love reusing interesting old fabrics and trinkets in my work, and Mr. Finch opened my eyes to new ways to see and use these items. I envy his spontaneity, originality, and the way his objects connect with the viewer. This book is a great portfolio. So often, photos don't capture the true magic of three dimensional objects. The photos in this book are wonderful. I'm very surprised that such a lush book can be this inexpensive. The quality of the physical book is excellent -- and the content is even better.

And she loved it!
The book was a gift for a skilled seamstress in love with vintage fabrics and charming hand made art. Mister Finch doesn't disappoint! His creations range from sweet to stunning with lovely and loved fabrics that he gives new life. His moths and fungi are spectacular; descriptions fail his foxes, mice, and rabbits!

nice photos
Lots of great photos here, so I'd like to know a lot about Mr. Finch in his workshop, there was not much more information in the book then you could find online, and he seems to be a very interesting character

Back cover was a glued piece of paper.
Tacky back cover. Overall a disappointment. Wish I didn’t purchase this book.

Exquisite
I'd give this beautiful book 10 stars if I could. The photography in it is exquisite, in fact, the whole book is truly classy. I have to say that I am a real Mister Finch fan and have been for some time so when I saw this book was to come out I just HAD to preorder it and, delight of delights, it actually was released early. The illustrations do justice to his beautiful, talented work and I am so pleased I bought it. Well worth the money and the wait. Thank you Mister Finch.

Losing oneself in the world of Mister Finch.......
Absolutely gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous book, full of beautiful photographs that really capture the detail and Grimm fairytale eerieness of Mister Finch's work....from embroidered and needlepoint moths and butterflies, to oversize hares and sleeping foxes, heartbreakingly fragile looking birds to breathtakingly beautiful fungi and flora, this book covers all areas of Mister Finch's work .....looking through it reminded me of when I was small and would lose myself for hours in the world of Perrault and Grimm......losing oneself in the word of Mister Finch is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.....this book is not only a fantastic treat for the eyes, but it's also a wonderful source of inspiration......I'll never look at an old and tatty piece of embroidery or vintage fabrics again.

A book to treasure
This book is magical. It's been a very long time since I bought a book that inspired me in the way Mister Finch's book has. I hope this is the first of many titles from him. It's such a treasure that I've used the last of my vintage bookplates in the front endpapers! The images and page layouts are beautiful. I only have one tiny gripe: someone needed to proofread a little bit more carefully! You won't notice this, because you'll be so swept away by Mister Finch's craftsmanship, but there are a few typos that the publisher should iron on in the next print run, e.g. "M name is Finch". Editorial errors aside though, I adore this book and I really hope he's going to publish more soon.

Disappointed
To be honest I was disappointed. Having seen some of Mr Finch's creations on the internet I was looking forward to having this book. I did hesitate because I think £30 is a lot of money for a book which in all probability will only be looked at a couple of times but I was given a voucher so used it. I don't think his best stuff is in here. The book is a series of full colour plates but some of them are duplicates e.g.from a bit closer .Some of the plates are just of random needlework accessories. Shame.

Outside cover of book Huge disappointment.
The inside of the book was beautifully produced. For such an expensive book the back of the cover was a huge disappoint.A page attached with one blob of hot melt glue in the centre back outside cover leaving the rest loose and flapping. How is this supposed to work when the book is put on a bookshelf with other books ,such a shame.
