Reluable emergency matches & case
These “lifeboat” matches are pretty much the survival kit standard because they reliability work. Give off a big hot flame from their huge heads and are truly waterproof. They will light even after a pretty good dousing., and rain won’t put them out. They’re about the size of an old fashioned kitchen match (like those great strike anywhere ones that are so hard to find now). The only down side is that these are NOT strike anywhere & the flame doesn’t last all that long, about 15-30 seconds, so keep the striking strip safe and have your fine kindling ready. The matchsticks are pretty strong, but can break or split if handled too clumsily. The match safe works well for storing these matches and keeping the striker strip dry. It’s very tough and I’ve never cracked one. This is a viable means to start fires in wet conditions, but not completely foolproof.

The best matches
hands down, the best. Light in wind, burn long, worth it when you need it.

Storm proof matches
These are fantastic. I recommend them to anyone burning brush or lighting burning barrels. Probably great for camping too. They burn long and in wind or rain. I would like to see the price come down and sometimes experience trouble striking.

UCO Stormproof, Waterproof & Windproof Match Kit
These match's work very well. I have used others, some are just a regular match with a coating on them to help keep out moisture. Most of them don't work very well, and if they get soaked in rain or just dropped into water, the probably wont work at all. These will continue to burn UNDER water. Not that your going to build a fire under water, but it means a lot if your trying to light a fire IN the rain or snow. A drop on the match will not put it out. Wind wont blow it out either. Only 4 stars because they are costly, but worth having some for emergency.

Great weather proof match
I tried these matches last year for camping and they are great. Light like a sparkler! Perfect for starting a fire in a fire pit.
