Creating A Ball-Jointed Doll

Too many missed opportunities to make this a truly great reference book for all the crafters and entrepreneurial spirts to create their own action figures! The price is steep, the information adequate, not sufficient. There were too many notes to see purchase copies of other books by the author to fill in the missing gaps in her information.The layout was amateurish with few descriptions.Save you rmoney and buy,"Yoshida Style" Ball jointed Doll Making Guide instead. It's pricier but well worth a few dollars more for so much more information, better layout and detailed photographs. Even though Yoshida is printed in Japanese language it's so much easier and friendly to follow.Best success to all fellow OOAK enthusiasts!

The book has a lot of good pictures but somebody needed to proof read it first I think. Too much red wine mentioned...maybe that was the problem !! All in all... it was OK but not what I had hoped for. Still, a book to learn from.

the cover is scary and looks like an add for a horror movie - the first page has four editing errors and that continues throughout the book which looks as though it was done by a child for children - the price is out of reach - bought it because it was in english but i have learned more from the japanese books in less time that it took to attempt to read this one - poor directions - lots of referrals to other books so you should buy them instead of wasting your money on this one - i am returning it !!! would not recommend it to anyone - - -

This is a book for building a BJD, not sculpting the parts. I will definitely be putting this book to good use! Thanks!!

Really good pictures and explanations

I purchased this book as there are not many books on the subject and although the book is expensive i thought (hoped) it will be worth it. I am not a beginner in polymer clay sculpting, but i would like to further my knowledge into ball jointed dolls. Unfortunately I was really disappointed with this book. The books lacks a great deal of instruction and information and the photos are very poor, mostly too dark., in summery the book is very cheaply made and i have have found much better tutorials online for free.

Fabulous book. Easy to read and good instruction. I was a little disappointed that it didn't begin with the actual sculpting of the doll though.

I didn't realise when I ordered that it wasn't a professional book. It is made by someone who makes BJD's. Still very helpful and I am sure it will help me make dolls really well

Not as detailed or informative as I would have hoped. Didn't use enough description or photographs and even sends you to search the internet for form and drawings rather than including them.

Love this book. Great for reference.
