Pare of my hair routine
This is amazing. I have thick curly hair. This henna left my hair feeling sooo soft! My frizz calmed down a lot and my hair feels way more manageable. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it gave me a nice, natural feel without weighing my hair down. Definitely going to keep using it — it’s such a good, easy way to treat my hair without a bunch of chemicals.

look more natural.
My mother loves to dye her hair with henna powder. Her hair always appeared reddish brown after being dyed with henna (lawsonia inermis). This herbal henna powder is a natural hair dye and the color is reddish brown that contains over 10 herbs. She has used this brand for years. This herbal henna powder is similar to the Lawsonia inermis henna she’s used before, providing a natural color that can last for a few months after dyeing. There weren't any weird smells or pungent chemical odors, so she was fine with it. In short, she likes to use henna powder to dye her hair to make it look more natural.

Safest for me
It didn’t give an itch or burning as all hair colors I have used. My hair is very dark brown/ black and I wanted to cover the gray hair. Using this gave me highlights at the gray part so I love it. No gloves but that’s ok as you would need many gloves as this pack would last a long time. Would use again.

Very Pleased! (Easy, not too messy, great results)
I am really pleased with not only the results of this henna formula, but how easy it was to use. So many hennas I have used in the past have resulted in turning my bathroom into shades of a tropical sunset encrusted in volcanic ash. The evidence on your hands, elbows and neck for a week. If you are an eighties girl who used that only available brand, you know what I mean! The instructions are clear...the pancake consistency, let the mix set for a couple of hours before applying. Apply to small sections using fingers or a brush and let it sit for two to four hours. Rinse out without shampooing so that the henna has chance to stain the follicles for a day or two. I was going to use gloves, but they were not handy, so I used my fingers and hoped for the best. I was impressed that it came off with soap and water (of course I did that right away after I applied it). Because I let it thicken before using the henna, it was not dripping down my neck while I waited. (Still, I recommend wrapping the strands in hair foil or using a cap just to protect clothing and furniture while you wait it out.) I wanted to get an idea of the shade before committing to all of my hair, so I did a lot of highlights on my medium-dark blond hair. As I rinsed out the henna (which did not destroy my shower walls), I was already happy with the results. Once dry, it was even nicer. A gentle warm red that looked natural. Not harsh at all. I am looking forward to applying this to all of my hair now. I plan to treat some strands longer to give a highlight/lowlight natural effect to my hair. The added bonus is how healthy and full my hair looks and feels now! The additional herbs seem to really support the conditioning effects of the henna. I will definitely order Zenia Herbal Powder again (once this generous amount is used up, that is to say, the price cannot be beat.)

Good henna!
I've been using henna in my hair off and on for a long time. Like, over 10 years. I usually let it grow out, then I have an identity crisis about my hair color and end up going to the henna again. I usually order my henna from a company that specializes in body-grade henna and their process for preparing the henna is different. I let the henna sit for a day for full dye release. Once it's applied, my usual henna has me wrap my hair in plastic to keep it wet and warm for 6+ hours, so I did pretty similarly with this one. As for the color, I have medium brown hair and at first, the henna makes my hair bright orange. Thankfully, that only lasts a day or two as it gradually darkens (oxidizes) to a beautiful auburn. If you don't touch up the henna periodically, it will continue to darken over months, but it never washes out. It is permanent as it binds to your hair. I'm not sure whether the additional herbs and stuff actually do anything, but they don't seem to have hindered the work of the henna. I usually use a 100% henna powder. Henna is a natural conditioning botanical and makes your hair incredibly soft. The smell is best described as "earthy." My kids do NOT like the smell of my hair until it's been a good two weeks since I used the henna, lol.

Real henna with great dye release and beautiful color
I have been henna'ing my hair for the better part of a decade. I was nervous about all the added botanicals, but in the end, they did not negatively impact my experience in any way. I mixed the henna my own way, which is similar to the package instructions (I use apple cider vinegar for my acid instead of lemon juice). I kept in a warm spot, and I had fantastic dye release after only about 2 hours, and I applied and left it on for about 4 hours. For some extra info about my photo, this was taken before it was fully oxidized (henna starts out very orange then gets darker over the next 2-3 days), but mostly the color in the photo is very true to life. My hair is naturally medium brown, and most of my hair has been minimally processed with any other dyes, so this is essentially henna right over top of medium brown hair that is fairly healthy (tho my hair is extremely porous naturally). Overall, I am very happy with this henna, and I will be back when its time to touch up my new growth! This is authentic, quality henna, and I would trust this brand for future applications. A few tips: Do lots of research before you henna your hair! There are a lot of bogus products that claim to be henna that are not, so getting authentic henna is important. Include in your research application techniques. It can be a very messy process, and a little intimidating at first, so knowledge is your friend here! And finally.... henna is UBER PERMANENT! (but that's the beauty of it!) If you are someone who likes to change their hair color often or you're worried about the color you might get, consider carefully before using henna. Henna permanently bonds to the keratin in your hair, so it doesn't fade, but it is nearly impossible to bleach out once it's on there (unless you like bright orange hair, which tbh, I kind of do lol).

Very red
We tried this out on two different hair colors. One was a natural medium brown and the other was a light brown with blonde highlights. We followed the instructions closely and left the dye on for about an hour and a half. The medium brown hair turned a deeper red color and the blonde highlights turned bright red. The dye is kind of messy to use and I did not expect it to smell the way it did. It’s very earthy and that smell stays in your hair for a couple weeks. The dye works great however and lasts better than any chemical dyes I’ve ever used. The color didn’t start to fade until about week 4. My hair was very soft and shiny after the first wash and not dry at all.
