Best in It's Price Class
This is an EXCELLENT baby monitor. I've used two others, the Goodbaby and the Kidsneed. The Kidsneed, which is out of prodution, was decent, with a very good screen of 3.5 inchess. But it lost connection repeatedly, several times a day. It regained connection quickly, but so what. I also bought a second Kidsneed and the two cameras interfered with each other, making them drop connection to the monitors. I placed an aluminm shield between them that helped, but they still lost contact. The Goodbaby screen sucked. Washed out in either day or night and very narrow vertical viewing angle. Not really usable. The Prisma is excellent straight out of the box, with no interference bweteen cameras. I say this because several reviewers and others of other units have asked if you can pair one camera with two monitors And no you can't, for valid security reasons. But you can buy two baby monitor setups and get the same effect. With the Prisma you CAN have two monitors in different locations monitoring essentially the same view, with the cameras essentially next to each other. So I'm able to keep an eye on my wife who's disabled if she's in bed in our bedroom and I'm monitoring from our study or from our small bathroom. That's a big deal because it means if she calls for me to help her I can hear her in either location through the separate monitors. For many people this probably it isn't an issue. But for people like us it's a gamechager. The Prmisa image is excellent. Far better than many others and as good as the Kidsneed but much larger. Great saturation and contrast, including at night. Also, it's a wide angle lens , which you can narrow if you need to. Much better than the standard Kidsneed or Goodbaby perspectives. All in all a superior baby monitor.

Great buys
Great Baby Monitor! Clear video and sound, excellent night vision, and very easy to set up. The connection is stable and reliable and gives us real peace of mind. Works exactly as expected. Highly recommended for new parents!

Really great replacement
I bought this as a replacement for our VaVa monitor that had broken; this was cheaper than replacing the parent monitor I needed. I’ve been using it about it and I have to say I’m impressed! The screen is bigger, it has a very clear image, and great signal (I have barely needed the antenna which I needed all the time on the VaVa). It’s easy to use, the battery lasts me all day and I sleep with it plugged in but turned on, and feels really durable especially compared to the VaVa. It is slightly louder, even on the lowest setting and the only downside in comparison is that the sound doesn’t toggle between cameras like the VaVa. You have to pick which screen to listen to. My kids are in the same room, so it’s not a huge deal for me, and I did read you can turn on some kind of scanning mode where it will monitor for sounds between both cameras and turn on the screen even but I have not tried it.

The system works, very well
This is the 5.5 inch full HD set. The two cameras and the monitor unit worked fine out of the box - still working 3 months later. The longest range we've tried is downstairs from upstairs and about 80 feet - no drops or glitches. The IR view, although black and white, is very detailed. The audio pickup is ok. The user interface is practical and easy to learn. It would be nice if there was an on/off switch on the cameras and "led light while on" (if there is, we didn't find it yet). Privacy/security is very important so an encrypted private transmission with no - zero - cloud connection is paramount. Honestly, I'm surprised the cameras, monitor, transmission, and privacy are as good as they are for $179.

LOVE this monitor, BUT…
We LOVE this monitor, it’s easy to use, the picture is great both during day and night, BUT it does not work with a sound machine on VOX. Our kiddos sleep with sound machines and even at the lowest sound setting for VOX, the monitor screen and sound activated. We tried moving the sound machines, moving the cameras, playing with the settings on the monitor, and turning the sound machines down. Nothing worked. Wr we’re so disappointed it didn’t work out and we had to return it.

I am keeping this baby monitor because it is ok, and I don't have the energy to test a bunch of different brands/models. I wanted a video monitor that wasn't connected to Wifi or my phone. This was recommended to me by a friend who was dissatisfied with other monitors she had tried. I was previously using a Wyze Pan Cam. For the price, I expected this monitor to be far superior in every way. Sadly, it is not. It covers the basics but falls short on all of its advertised premium features. See below. Pros: - Nice packaging - Easy set up - Monitor has a large screen with a menu that is easy to navigate. - Good sound detection on camera and loud speaker on monitor. Cons: - Compared with the Wyze camera, the overall picture resolution and night vision are inferior. The zoom function is not very useful as it is grainy with little contrast. I cannot see my baby's chest rise and fall. - Temperature gauge is not accurate when camera is wall-mounted. It is 2-3 degrees C higher than the crib temperature. - Clock gains time (about 15 minutes per week) and has to be reset regularly. - White noise feature is not loud enough with poor sound quality, tinny and scratchy. Still using a dedicated white noise machine. - Battery does not last the whole day, even when only checking the screen for a few seconds here and there. It also takes about 8 hours to fully charge. I have to plug it in overnight. The cable has a box on it (not sure the function of this) which is heavy and awkward. I cannot speak to the following features as I have not used them. - microphone - split-screen (I only have one camera.) - long range (I live in a small apartment.) - customer service (It has been working perfectly for over a month.) Although I admittedly have not done the research, there must be less expensive monitors on the market that have basic functions with comparable quality. This monitor sadly does not meet my expectations for my purposes. Perhaps, if you have different needs, it will be just the ticket for you and your family.

This is a completely independent and honest review, based on a unit which I bought myself - unlike all of the other reviews so far, which have all been handed out as Vine freebies for the sake of securing a (good) review. I purchased this monitor in September 2024 for about £80 (Amazon had a 10% discount voucher). It was intended to replace a Babymoov YOO Moov camera which I had been using for approx. 4 years (before gravity intervened and it fell into the toilet). I took a bit of a punt on this one, as there were no reviews whatsoever for this model on Amazon UK when I ordered, and even a Google search brings up very few results – it is presumably a new line for the UK / EU. Hopefully this review will be useful to others in the same situation! >>> DELIVERY Delivery was quick and on-time using the specified day Prime delivery option. The monitor was well packaged inside an Amazon box, with a good amount of packing material to stop it moving around too much inside. >>> FIRST IMPRESSIONS First impressions of the baby monitor after removing it from the Amazon packaging were really good. The item is housed inside a very sturdy cardboard box which is not shrink-wrapped but does come with tamper-proof seals for reassurance. Once opened, the box contains a polystyrene-type cut-out inside it to safely house the cameras, the monitor unit, the chargers and the paperwork. >>> POSITIVES In terms of general common sense, the monitor unit feels sensibly designed overall. The kickstand is centrally placed on the back, with two different options for how reclined you want the unit to be. The charging point is on the side, so it does not interfere with the kickstand. On the same side of the unit is the power on/off button. Volume up/down buttons are on the top. Setup was a piece of cake. The monitor unit arrived pre-charged so as soon as I turned on the monitor and plugged in the cameras, the former found the latter without any hassle at all. When powering the monitor unit off and back on again, it links to the cameras instantly. Reception is excellent so far. We have had no dropouts whatsoever, and have not needed to raise the aerial on the receiver unit. The cameras and the monitor unit are all powered with well-placed USB-C ports. A separate charger is provided for each of them. The chargers have a really nice, small profile but it is also reassuring to know that the USB-C ports mean that you can also use your phone charger if you are travelling and want to reduce the amount of gear you are carrying. The cameras and monitor unit seem to be very unfussy about which USB-C charger you use, which is also really helpful. The screen is really good quality. Some baby monitors offer full HD screens on units this size but I honestly think that anything more than 720p on a unit this size is unnecessary. The screen is very crisp and clear, with good colour reproduction during the day time and a very clear picture in low light levels or complete darkness. Sound reproduction is very good. Any unit this size will find it difficult to reproduce sounds without them sounding a bit thin and tinny, but this is better than the other monitors we have used up to now. The delay between a sound taking place in the room and being relayed to the monitor unit is minimal. The monitor unit has a range of buttons for frequently used functions. These are: power on/off; volume up/down; menu; night light; two-way talk; camera switching; and camera tilt/pan/zoom. These all work well and have a consistent feel of quality with regard to ‘clickiness’, feedback etc. The on-screen menu is really clear and self-explanatory. Battery life on the receiver seems good: the receiver unit easily made it through the night on a single charge. There is a power-saving option which claims to extend battery life even further. The night-light function is great, with the option to choose between three levels of brightness, six colours and even a rainbow mode which cycles smoothly between the colours. The 'talk' function works really well. Again, there is always a limit to how natural your voice will sound when coming out of a tiny speaker on a camera unit but compared to some of the other baby monitors we have used, the function works well here. The ‘vox’ option works extremely well. I gave a very poor review to a completely different unit a couple of weeks ago because its vox function was abysmal. Here, the screen and speaker on the camera unit are triggered promptly and effectively when even very faint sounds are detected in the room(s) being monitored. This is vital for our circumstances as a family so I am delighted that it works so well here. For buyers who want fewer interruptions, there are three sensitivity settings based on how easily you want the function to be triggered. Helpfully, the receiver unit explains exactly on-screen what the different options means (e.g. ‘high’ means that quieter sounds will wake the unit). There is also a ‘scan’ mode which allows you to use the vox mode across more than one camera in different rooms: if one of them registers a sound, it will automatically show the feed from that room. There is a temperature alert function which lets you know if the temperature gets too high or low in the room(s) being monitored. Helpfully, you are able to specify the ‘trigger’ temperatures you want using the on-screen menu. Again, many cheaper units do not allow you to do this and simply give you a preset high and low temperature, which is not particularly helpful if you prefer to focus on heating beds and bodies rather than entire rooms (for slightly older children rather than babies). The remote control tilt/pan function works really smoothly. >>> NEGATIVES The zoom function is okay, but not great. In addition to the normal view, there are two levels of zoom. The first of these is actually not too bad, but the closest zoom level is pretty unhelpful. Like most baby monitors, the cameras on this unit use a digital rather than an optical zoom. This means that zooming in just gives you an even more interpolated / blurred view of the image. At maximum zoom level, it’s all just a bit too unclear. The kickstand does not feel particularly strong, but this seems to be pretty standard for baby monitors these days. Whilst the hinge has a metal pin inside it, the actual standing ‘leg’ is quite thin and I suspect it would break pretty easily with just a little bit of force. The aerial is better than on some of the baby monitors I have seen, but it still feels like it could snap pretty easily. This is definitely not a heavy duty unit like our old Babymoov monitor, so it makes sense to keep it out of reach of little hands. >>> OVERALL On the whole, I am really impressed by this unit. Yes, at £80 it wasn’t the cheapest option but it comes with all of the features we really need as a family. There are much pricier options out there, but I’m not sure how much more genuinely useful quality they could really add, other than perhaps slightly more durable build quality on the kickstand / aerial and an optical zoom on the cameras. Also, bear in mind that the package I bought contains two cameras, and there is a similar package with just one camera which (at time of purchase) costs £20 less. For many families a single camera will be sufficient, and that sort of price seems like outstanding value for a very fully-featured piece of kit from a brand name which is well established as being reliable and user-focused. Considering our old Babymoov monitor cost well over £100, this Babysense Prisma is brilliant value and highly recommended.
