Works Great, Easy Installation
I was a bit skeptical of this item at first, had a different product years ago that didn't seem to help. But the second story in our home tends to run 3-5 degrees warmer in the summer than the main floor where the thermostat is located and took the chance that this may help. Installation was quite easy, just make sure you get the right size, loved that they had a variety of size choices unlike many other competitors. I admit, it took me a few minutes to understand how to lock in the settings correctly, but got them eventually. The highest fan speed is a bit noisy, but we are a fan family and it's more just like background white noise. And we'll take the noise because the velocity with which it pulls the air is quite strong, you can feel it from several feet away! We are very happy with the unit, when the AC is running, it cools the room to the exact same temperature as the thermostat is set, even a degree lower sometimes! That being said, you have to understand how it works. You program the cooling temperature lower than the thermostat setting by a few degrees, but not colder than the temperature of the air when the AC is blowing. The fan should be off until the AC starts blowing, and once it senses colder air, the fan turns on. This means that when the AC is actively blowing, it makes a significant difference in the room temperature. However, if there are longer periods when the AC is not blowing, the room temperature will creep back up because the unit is off (as it should be since it would then be pulling in hotter air just sitting in the vents). Just a word of caution so you have realistic expectations. My only minor complaint is that it does seem to take a couple minutes to turn on after the AC starts blowing, and stays on for a couple minutes after the AC clicks off. But it's a minor issue and does not seem to detract from overall performance.

Nice and quiet on lower fan settings, and still blows enough warm air
I have the large 6"x12" booster fan register in my office (which is the farthest room from the hot air furnace), and it has helped draw in more warm air, and is also nice and quiet. I hear a very soft 'click' when it turns on (when the vent reaches the minimum air temperature I had set - which I think was 80 degrees), and then I feel a puff of the warm air blowing into what was previously the coldest corner of the house (I set the fan to the second-lowest level, I think that was "2"). It probably only adds another degree or two, but those couple of degrees really help to feel more comfortable. This is usable for heat or AC. I like that you can shut off the AC setting when you want it for heat, and vice versa... so I'm not worried that it will get confused. The only challenge was that the fan component was a bit of a tight squeeze into the vent opening. But... it did work!

Why this may or may not solve your problem, it depends...
There are many variables involved in solving a low airflow problem to the AC register in a particular room in your house. This product can solve some of the problems but not all so it depends on your particular situation. The fan will move more air out of your register and if your ducts are properly sealed it will pull that air from your airhandler where your AC coil is located and help to cool your room better. If your ducts are not sealed properly then it will not work so well as it will pull unconditioned air into the duct through the gaps at the duct joints instead of just pulling more conditioned air. You can measure the temperature of the air coming from your register and if it goes up when the booster fan is running then you probably have duct leaks that need to be sealed. Before you even turn the booster fan on you can measure the temperature of air coming out of your register from a room far from the air handler and also one near the air handler. If there is a large difference then your ducts may not be insulated and you are gaining heat into the ducts before the air gets to the farthest register. In conclusion when the duct work is not sized correctly for balanced airflow this fan can help boost the airflow to the problem room but unless the ducts are sealed and insulated properly the fan will not solve all your problems. There is a company called Aeroseal that can spray an aerosol sealant into a pressurized duct to seal it from the inside. This could help make the booster fan deliver more cold air in the summer or hot air in the winter to your problem room. It can also make your system more efficient and cheaper to operate. If you have access to your ducts you can seal them from the outside with a duct mastic and add insulation as needed. In my home the ducts were sized poorly and my second floor rooms were too hot in the summer. I added booster fans to the registers on the second floor. It helped only a little as I had leaky ducts. I closed off some of the registers on the first floor to get more flow to the second floor and that helped more but while I did not get the temperatures balanced between floors I was able to come close. You must be careful when closing registers on an AC system because if you restrict the airflow too much it can cause your AC coil to ice up. I also had returns on both floors so I closed off the one on the first floor so that all air returning to the air handler was coming from the second floor. This also helped to cool the second floor.

Effective but loud
The temperature in the room is much better but it has to be on the highest fan setting. And it is rather loud. The sound overpowers my daughter’s sound machine. And because it shuts off and turns on when needed it disturbs her sleep. She is 23 months old

Worth it! Works great
This thing is well worth it! Our bedroom get so hot and our old AC just can’t pump the air efficiently. This vent fan drastically cools down the room. We unplugged it to paint and after a day or two we both noticed it had been hotter in the room. Noise is pretty low, just like a small fan. Screen goes off so brightness isn’t an issue. And looks great, white matches the old vent we had.

good alternative to inline pusher duct fan
works good, however had a dead bearing fan upon arrival. thankful.i had a fan to swap out. other then that works and noise level is barely heard in a quiet room

It works as intended. We have a centralized heating and we are looking for this kinds of vents. Our master bedroom heated faster compare as before. This will help save electricity as we only need the comfortable temperature on our bedroom and this helps a lot to heat it fast and the heater will turn off earlier than normal. And this vents is more attractive than typical vents. I installed the wire inside drywall and it looks clean.
