HBL' Door Closer (Black) - Alloy, Automatic Gate Door Closer, Grade 1 ADA Standard for Residential Screen, Storm, Garage, Patio, and Room Doors - HBL108 (Left Opening Style)

The media could not be loaded.  I was excited about getting this door closer since this door often doesn't get shut all the way. I attempted to get this door closer to work for over an hour and finally gave up.To begin with, the instructions that come with it, I think try to make it sound and look so simple to install. Too bad it doesn't work that way. I never did quite understand how they meant to line up the post along the top to know where it goes. The first attempt that I thought (and still think) is what they meant, it didn't line up correctly when you opened the door and it had to "jump" the track, which also broke off the end of it. I ended up trying several positions, putting multiple holes in my door and still nothing.My final attempt before giving up, it lines up well and it starts to pull the door closed. It has plenty more space to pull before being all the way in, yet the door latch barely touches the door frame. This door is not one that is hard to close, it fits and works well.If I kept trying, I may be able to figure it out.... but after an hour for something that looked like a 15 minute job, and multiple extra holes, I decided I was done. This door closer works, just not that well. For my door it is under powered and doesn't fully close my door. It closes it enough the dog can't get out, but I would have liked it to close all the way. I feel the issue is with the weather striping around my door that is preventing it from closing. If the closer had more power it wouldn't be any issue. The instructions are horrible, I just sort of winged it from what the instructions showed. I wouldn't recommend this product. Thank you.
