Plant immediately
Plenty immediately upon receipt. These lil guys will be ok upon receipt but will perish quickly if not immediately planted.

Tiny Hemlocks!
They arrived in good shape, and are growing in their new homes.I discovered, to my embarassment, that there were quite a few hemlocks in the woods I thought I was going to introduce the "Queen of Trees" into... so it goes... they are very cute 4" trees with a few 100' relatives to look up to!

It Lived!
I had my doubts when I planted this plug in a pot and it dropped yellow needles. I literally abandoned it to die at the back of my garden under a shade tree. But here we are in spring, 3 months later and with 1x a week waterings and no other care it has doubled in size with lots of little green spring growth all over it. Helps probably that I live in a native hemlock environment, but give this little guy a chance because he's got what it takes to succeed. I will pot grow mine for a year to get some size on him,, then pop him in the ground to live with his Eastern Hemlock buddies. Very pleased with my purchase, will buy more in the future!

All 3 trees died
I have a pretty good green thumb, but despite good soil, adequate light and watering, all 3 hemlocks I ordered died.

It arrived dead. It looked like it was cooked.
If it had been alive it could be a good deal.Dead tree won't grow.

Very healthy seedlings
I ordered 11 seedlings (small) last spring and planted them directly into the ground. Upon checking them this spring, I found all but one green and healthy, except about half had the tops nibbled off by local wildlife (probably rabbits). Ordered replacements because I didn't want to deal with how they might grow with multiple trunks. When I pulled up the damaged trees, I was surprised to find well established root systems on all of them. This will always be my "go to" source for new trees. (This time I put wire cages around them)

Wow!
I live near Charlotte, NC and so far this little sapling is doing great here. I planted him in a 70/30 soil and sand ratio, so that he could drain as much as he needed. I’ve left him outside on my steps and he’s grown at least an inch in two months. The packaging he came in was exquisite and he was super safe! Love it!

Size
The trees were very small for the price paid but I have planted them in a flower pot until they get big enough to see on the ground.
