Bought this to install it on my son old truck. Now he has a way to charge his phone without the cigarette lighter plug. I removed the old cigarette lighter plug and install the USB charging port on there. Looks like its part of the vehicle. This was installed on a 2004 Silverado

I’ve bought over a dozen usb outlets from various brands to replace cigarette sockets over the last decade. After trying them all I can say with confidence that this is the one to buy.Pros:Solid construction. The face and body of this outlet is machined aluminum. The machining and coating are both top notch. My kids haven’t managed to scratch it yet despite fumbling around to plug their tablets in.Firm connectors. Several of the cheaper outlets I tried didn’t hold the USB in very well. This resulted in the cables falling out while driving or intermittent charging. The Rydonair outlets hold the plugs in solidly.It’s Discrete. There are no obnoxious leds, bright colors, or big logos. It looks and feels like it came installed from the factory.Two outlets. Having two plugs is a life saver with kids. No more fighting over who gets to plug in their charger. And since each plug can pull the full 2.1A at a time, having two devices plugged in doesn’t slow the charger.Cons:I haven’t found any yet!Bottom line: if you want a clean factory usb look, this is the outlet to buy. I have them in all of my vehicles now and wouldn’t bother with any others. They look good, work well, and I am confident that they will last the life of the car.

I've upgraded my motorhome, two 20' boats and three vehicles with USB sockets. The motorhome was the first and I wanted a three socket charging station over my dining table. I bought three USB outlets and they had those darn LED lights on them. Lit up the whole motorhome when we were trying to sleep with the lights out.Second try I bought three cheap outlets with no LED lights on them. On of the three worked and that one came apart since they were cheap plastic.I got this one which when I bought three was the three times the price of the others but there was no bright LED light and it had an Aluminum housing.They didn't fail, output was great and no annoying LED lights.They work.I put them in my boats, my truck, my toad (my flat-towed car behind my RV) and my wife's car. Probably bought a dozen of them... all have performed flawlessly and charged or powered everything I plugged into them. And I can sleep at night!

Purchased this to add a USB port to my golf cart to power my phone and rechargeable fan. This is the second one I have purchased. The first one only lasted about two years before it stopped working. Not sure why. Worked just fine till it didn't one day. Not extremely expensive, but also don't want to replace every two years. This one has been installed for about a year now and have not had issues. Was easy to install. Came with two female spade connectors to simplify install if new.

Had to enlarge the original hole for the cigarette lighter a little bit and it was a perfect fit, looks nice and clean, love the non illumination!!!!!!

We have an '88 Bayliner Ciera 2655 which predated USB power so I searched for ways to add some. Oddly, almost all I found have blaring bright LED lights that would light up the whole sleeping cabin so I was quite pleased to find this model which does not have an LED. It's 2 x 2.1 amp ports provide the power to either recharge devices or run the fans or chillers that all run on USB power (vital in FL!). The install is also simpler than the rectangular models since only a 7/8" hole saw is needed to produce the space to secure the 1" front plate with the provided locking nut to the back side of the new whole. You'll need to acquire 18g black/red wire set and an inline fuse (found on Amazon) to run from your 12V battery blocks but you probably already knew that if you're looking to add this. Good luck!
