item works extremely well. Easily programmable. Better than most units because it does a soft close on water supply lines and Does not slam shut. Worth every penny. I am buying a second.

I have 2 of these now and both work perfectly for a couple months now. Pretty easy to set up after you begin to see the pattern. Very durable. Instructions were spot-on. We went off on vacation and these timers gave me peace of mind that everything would survive in our gardens over the week.

In my garden I use a lot of sprinkler timers for actual sprinklers but also for drip irrigation and soaker hoses. With hot summers, my water bill can quickly get out of hand without them. One problem I occasionally have is cross threading plastic fittings thus ruining a timer so getting one with brass fittings appealed to me. I found the brass threads easier to connect to other fittings, enough so that I will prefer them for most future timer purchases. I do need to be careful when connecting hoses with aluminum fittings to brass - they need teflon wraps or other anti-seize methods to prevent galvanic corrosion. The timer itself is great. It is very easy to program and use. Reading the display in very bright sun is difficult so I try to install the timer in a position that minimizes the glare. I've used Rainpoint products for several years and have found them to be very reliable as long as I remember to drain them and put them up for the winter. I'm pleased with this timer and expect it will hold up as well as the others I have from Rainpoint.

I have a prior model RainPoint irrigation timer that was purchased a few years back and it still works flawlessly. They are well constructed, use very little battery power with 2 AA's, and keep accurate time with no leaks. I do appreciate that this one has upgraded brass fittings at both the inlet and outlet sides. They seem sturdy and should increase longevity, although I haven't had any problems with the prior model that has plastic fittings. The operation remains the same which is a benefit since setting times is very easy and user friendly. All-in-all, a solid performer at a good value!

In the past, I've used Orbit brand timers. They've worked okay, but end up breaking after a few years. I decided to try a different brand, and spend a little more to hopefully get something that would last longer. Well, this one lasted me 3 days. The box had instructions on it, telling how to activate the valves prior to using (see attached picture), which I did, and the valves seemed to be just fine. I set it up, and it worked fine for two days. Then on the third day, it failed completely. I had it set to start at 5 am, and run for 30 minutes. I woke up at 7 am, and noticed the sprinklers were still running. I went outside, thinking I had messed up the run time on it. However, that was not the case. I switched the dial to "off", and both sprinklers were still running. Clearly, the valve to shut off the water flow was not working on either outlet, so I just shut off the water at the spigot. I tried turning it back on the next day to see if the valves were back to working, but it just flowed freely again. Very frustrating that this only lasted 2 days before breaking, and even more angering because now I have to pay for 2 hours of watering, which flooded my yard and washed away some of the fresh grass seed I'd just spread. I will be returning this for a refund.

This has been an absolute game changer for managing my garden. I wish I'd learned of it sooner! I have it set to water my planter boxes for 3 minutes every morning and I only adjust it if it rains. It is easy to set up and has been very reliable. I haven't had to change the battery yet and I've been using it since August. With the two different zones, I'm able to adjust each zone to meet the watering needs of different areas of my garden. I'll definitely be using more of these in other areas of my yard. I thought that I had to invest in an expensive drip irrigation system, but this and a soaker hose have taken care of my garden with such easy set up! I am very happy.

I have been very happy with this timer. The build quality is very rugged and the brass connectors make for a secure, leak-free fit. I have been using a pair of these timers for 2 months now and they have been working reliably. The battery life is long lasting. It’s been running for 8 weeks and has only decreased one bar, so the pair of batteries will easily last an entire season. The directions are well documented and are easy to understand and program. The display is large and easy to read. I would definitely recommend this product.
