I use this thread for my book binding and for the occasional leather work. The wax is not that heavy, so if you need a heavier waxed thread, you can use some beeswax to add that extra layer. I love the variation in the colors, which gives the thread work a nice appearance, and allows the binding or seams to be decorative if they are visible. I love the multiple color options, they give me many options to choose from with the covers and page colors.

I have loved variegated thread since as a girl almost 60 years ago when I started hand embroidery and was frustrated by the only variegated embroidery thread then available. Now we have a plethora of variegated thread in all sorts of weights and colors. This is thread for crafting not running through the needle of your sewing machine. I'm not into making bracelets, etc. However I think this thread will be terrific for cording with your machine using a cording foot, coordinating thread to sew the strands down. Depending on your cording foot and how wide of a stitch your machine can sew, your finished piece should look terrific.The listing mentioned that these threads were based on Monet's Waterlily paintings. Monet is my favorite painter. I still remember the awe I felt when seeing a real Monet waterlilies painting 40 years ago in Washington DC. I hope to use these threads in a way that will honor Monet and his work.I appreciate the opportunity to use these threads. Thank you.

This thread is beautiful! The colors are bright and vibrant. The strength is fantastic and holdnup to sewing through heavy materials. The wax coating a great and helps it glide through tough materials smoothly.

This is a really nice set of thread. It's strong and doesn't pull apart when I pull on it. It includes a good variety of color options so there's a thread that will fit just about any project you need a variegated thread for. Thread seems to go up in price more than I'd like so I think this set is a fair price for specialty threads.

Sturdy thick strong thread that is uniquely variegated with complementary tones of choice, in vibrant or profound options. I picked Vibrant and might be back for the profound later. These are going to work well with intricate crafts that alternate color as you go for a unique effect in crochet, macrame, bracelet and necklace making, crafts, hand sewing embroidery and detailing, and more. The colors are bright and beautifully crafted and the paper insert lets you know when and how to cut the strands for use so that your project will have matching strings if it matters, if it doesn't matter it at least lets you know that a new batch could be on the spool which can change the effect slightly during your projects. If this change-over is unsettling, this set might not be for you. If you don't mind there might be a noticeable difference the things you make will be a kind of boho mix-match.This set of 8 spools also comes with a wrist measuring tape, a finger ring measuring tape, and four-thread organizers to help you sort out the threads for your project to line up the variegated pattern if you want it to line up.At the cost of this divided up with 8 spools, they equate to 3.12 per spool but you also get a few extra items included so if divided up by all parts (14pc) it makes each item 1.79 which is fair and decent either way. Don't want the bonus items? Give them to a local crafter.Excellent threads, good value, multipurpose use for crafts.

This is a beautiful set of waxed thread that would work well for a variety of projects. I happen to be a big fan of anything variegated, especially yarn, and this is no exception.

This thread is absolutely gorgeous. It is super strong and has a good smooth feel. I use waxed thread stitching in leather and in “vegan leather” and this waxed thread works wonderfully. It pulls easily through any leather I’ve tried it and has the movement that is required for bending applications such as wallets. The diameter is good for light applications (not shoes for instance) and it’s easy to use.
