Everyday Instructional Coaching: Seven Daily Drivers to Support Teacher Effectiveness (Instructional Leadership and Coaching Strategies for Teacher Support) (Now Classrooms) [Nathan D. Lang-Raad] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Everyday Instructional Coaching: Seven Daily Drivers to Support Teacher Effectiveness (Instructional Leadership and Coaching Strategies for Teacher Support) (Now Classrooms) Review: Useful, practical and inspiring resource - Full disclosure: I am not (yet) an instructional coach but immersing myself in resources in order to learn more about that role. I follow the author on Twitter and always enjoy his insights, so I thought I would benefit from the book. The ideas are clearly laid out and direct, and there are many reproducible resources as well as strategies and tips. As I haven't had a chance to apply the techniques I cannot speak to how effective they are, but my biggest take away from the book is that it supports and encourages instructional coaches to become their best selves in order to best serve and work with their colleagues. The clarity of the text and embedded tools seem to provide a good road map for doing just that. Review: Dr. Lang-Raad’s Guide to Successful Coaching Cycles - This text goes straight to the core of what coaching should look like and feel like. It places a big emphasis on reflection which allows for feedback to drive the work through conversation. The templates provided, make the process transparent as well and thinking/question stems that support the coach and the teacher throughout analysis of coaching work. Dr. Nathan Lang-Raad highlights the importance of coaching to be collaborative and provides the coach with guidelines as how to support this prerequisite. Dr. Lang-Raad offers examples that illustrate the ideas that are based on sound research. In all, Everyday Instructional Coaching is a compact great resource that provides research based tools and guides the coaching work with integrity and transparency at heart to impact student learning.

A quick and practical read!
I have been an instructional coach for 3 years and have read a lot of great books around this subject. “Everyday Instructional Coaching” has now been added to my list of go to’s! While I love learning a lot of information about instructional coaching, the best information is that which can be immediately put into action. This book does just that! It gives practical steps to take every day that not only help us to be more effective, but help us build positive relationships with our teachers, as well as create and maintain a healthy and successful school culture! This is a quick read, so get to it!

Short and Engaging Text
I have read many articles and books on educational leadership and instructional coaching. This text is among one of my favorites so far. The book is less than 100 pages and is an easy read. This book full of practical tips and tidbits to improve instructional coaching practices. Instead of repeating the same things as others have, Lang-Raad discusses seven strategies (drivers) that coaches can use to support their teachers. I would recommend this for individuals interested in instructional coaching and those instructional coaches who are looking at a fresh perspective on their work. I enjoyed this quick and easy read.

A different coaching book! New ideas that address the authentic environment of coaching.
This was an easy read full of new ideas about instructional coaching. It challenged my thinking and gave me some new perspectives on different aspects of coaching. Also, there are so many get frameworks and tools to use in you everyday coaching. I have read many coaching books and this one had a great deal of divergents thinking from the others I have read. I recommend this to coaches just starting out and more seasoned coaches!

Great read for instructional coaches and leaders!
I am going into my 4th year as an instructional coach, and each year it still feels like my first! Having books, such as this one, to lean on during this journey is so important! I have read it, more than once, since buying it to continue to grow. It is part of my go-to instructional coaching library of books!

A MUST READ
Though, as Nathan's husband, I may be a little biased, I think this book has it all—comprehensive instruction, frontier-pushing initiatives, and concise explanations to make it all easily accessible. I couldn't be prouder of him, and you should definitely buy this book. (...and tell him that you read this most wonderfully written—and completely objective—review...)
