Fray BentosSteak & Kidney Pudding Microwavable - 6 X 400Gm

Steak & Kidney pudding is, for me and my daughter, like peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for a US born kid. It just tastes of home, childhood, and all the things you love to remember. Fray Bentos does not disappoint. Maybe not quite the same as Mum used to make, but pretty darned close and so satisfying. I couldn't live without having one of these puddings two or three times per year - when I'm feeling homesick.

Sadly, I ordered a pack of six puddings.The “pastry” is unlike any I’ve ever eaten. It seems to comprise at least 50% of the pudding, and is thick, stodgy, cloying, and tasteless. The filling is a fatty sludge of gravy, with barely recognisable small pieces of meat-effect matter, none of which can be clearly identified as steak, or kidney.Fray Bentos should be ashamed, to market this fatty gloopy monstrosity as a “Steak & Kidney Pudding”. My wife forbade me from feeding the uneaten three-quarters, to our dogs.

I did not know that these puddings were still available I looked forward to Sunday after the last war my Auntie would get a steak and kidney pudding make a hole in it and boil it in a pan and it was shared between my sister auntie an myself made in Scotland really good steak and kidney I did not know that they still made them yum yum

Given the maker these are disappointing .Pastry unappetising and too thick

My husband fancied trying these after not having them for a long time. When IPut one out in the plate it doesn’t hold its shape. It spread all over the plate like a pancake with the inside (which looks and smells like dog food) came oozing out. I certainly wouldn’t buy again. Disgusting!

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THE STEAK & KIDNEY PUDDING THEY ARRIVED AND I COOKED THEM AND THEY WERE VERY NICE
