Q: Do these have a design on them? Description says they are plain but customer photos show a grape design. I am searching for plain corks.

The #9 corks are plain. No design. The grape design is from an older, #8 cork other variation that we no longer sell.

Q: How long will these keep wine/mead fresh? I make mead at home and am looking for corks that will keep my mead fresh for 5+ years.

I’ve been making wine for over 10 years. These corks are only intended to last for a few years. But I have wine that’s 7 years old and had no problem with them. If you want a really good cork it will cost you. But you should be fine, unless you’re using really expensive grapes that you want to absolutely guarantee the wine doesn’t spoil. 5+ years is pushing it a bit though.

Q: do you need a wine corkee tool?

Yes, you do if you are bottling wine. A floor corker is recommended.

Q: Do these corks have natural cork layers on the top and bottom (similar to the "Duo-Disk" corks)?
