I remember this magic, flashing, and sparking device ...
I remember this magic, flashing, and sparking device Because I had one when I was a child. It hasn’t changed a bit even 40 years later, except for the price that I have to pay in order to have expedited for a party, and almost lasted as long as the party did. Made of relatively cheap material, it didn’t take much for this device to break. What used to cost a couple of dollars, cost me almost $30 in order to get it int 2 days; I only wish it would’ve lasted more than the time it took to get to me.

Maybe if it cost $1.50
This is a fun and harmless prank device and I bought this one after seeing one that was made about 10 years ago. The one that inspired me to buy this was a somewhat cheesy sheet metal device, but it worked well for what it did. I compared that one to the depiction of this and it appeared identical even down to the "WESTERN GERMANY" stamp. However, when I took this one out of its box, I could see that it was made of even thinner sheet metal. The wind-up mechanism feels like it's going to break and the spring that returns the thumb button fell out the first time that I used it. This is a pale imitation of the one that inspired me to buy one and I would be surprised if it cost any more than 25 cents to manufacture. If you are mechanically inclined, you can improve function by removing the cover and bending the part of the release button that engages the sparker wheel as the device is wound up. That will also reveal the cheap stamped gears and sloppy plain bearings for the gear axles. The flint appears to be replaceable and it sparks better after it is broken in.

Cheap peice of junk. Ultra-thin sheet metal, broke with in a few minutes.
Very, very thin sheet metal. The spring broke within one week. This would be worth $1.50, maybe. Save your money. The product barely worked the three times it was used before it broke. Add to that the seller knows the product is a piece of junk, but just keeps on selling them.,

Poor poor quality! why?
It's terrible! It is so cheap that's it's falling apart after 5 uses! If you gave this to your kids it would be broken in 5 minutes! Very very very poor quality, do not buy this!
