Q: Does anybody know where I can get parts for shakers? The bottom battery compartment the latch is broken.

I would write or email directly to Trudeau and get them to replace it. If you bought it fairly recently thru Amazon, I'd look up the order ... there should be info on contacting the seller. If not. Google Trudeau ... they are a good company and should help you out. Good luck!

Q: what colors does it come in?

I know I've purchased a black one and a silver one. If there are other colors they should be in the description.

Q: Any functional difference between salt mill and pepper mill? Chrome called "salt mill" and silver "pepper mill". Any difference -- function or looks?

They are interchangeable. The salt and pepper mill can be used either for salt or pepper. It dies a decent job of grinding but sometimes the pieces are a bit large. I am really happy with my two chrome grinders.
