Just made my first ice ball and it is clear ice as one would expect for directional freezing. They also provide a reusable thin silicone bag to store your ice balls which is a nice touch (see photo). The entire setup is a little taller and wider than a can of soda, so it doesn't take up a huge amount of space in your freezer. I did wait 5 minutes before twisting and pulling on the rubber mold to get it out of the insulated chamber and it came out relatively easily. There is a hemispheric seam and a small nub since the mold is 2 pieces, but I don't think that matters too much once it is in a liquid. Since I've only made one ice ball, I can't comment on durability, but the materials seem fairly solid. If you only need to make once clear ice ball at a time, I think this is a good purchase for the price.

As part of regular use, fill freeze, use ice, wash, rinse and repeat. Mold has developed in the silicon mold and won’t come out. OF COURSE I just missed the return window.

This works just as it's advertised. Easy to use and doesn't take up much space.

I love Crystal clear ice cubes, but my previous method of making them perfect with cumbersome. This is very easy to use, and makes the cubes just as clear. I'm really enjoying it!
