I like that this has a big screen, a bright LED light all around the perimeter, and that the loop it comes with is versatile. Instead of hanging it around my neck, I use the loop as a stand so I can put my hand or foot under it and see my cuticles better when I do my nails because I realized that not being able to see exactly where my cuticles end and getting polish or nail wraps on them was causing my manis/pedis to not last as long as they should. The magnifier is a great help for this. I do find that it's a little hard to get it placed properly for the clearest view of the subject, and especially hard if you or the magnifier or the thing you're trying to see or a combination of these things move around.Funnily enough, the instructions on the page included inside the box had some pretty small print in places, so I got to try the magnification out right away before getting the light charged. Turns out the instructions both inside and on the box are missing a little information, so this will get you started:Charge the light by plugging the charger into the side of the handle on the magnifier part (and into an outlet, duh). After it's charged, take the charger out and slip the handle of the magnifier into the strap. The side of the magnifier that is outlined in white goes down (the white part is the light). The button to turn on the light is on the left side of the handle, opposite the charging port. Be sure to also read the instructions that came with the product for more information and warnings about how to care for it without destroying it.

This lighted magnifier works well for readying, but for me, it's more useful for crocheting. Especially if I'm working with black yarn, I find it difficult to see the stitches without extra light. This provides the extra light I need, magnification, and is hands free so I can crochet. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn't have any sort of protective covering for when not in use. I have an old laptop sleeve the fits pretty well, but it would have been nice if it came with something to protect it. Recommend.

There is a convenient handle that is used as a pedestal for the gooseneck loop mount. It may contain the battery. The pedestal can be inserted with lights up or down which allows using the magnifier either with a neck loop above the light or in a desk stand below the light configuration. A magnet keeps the pedestal firm in the mount. The light does a good job but there is some reflection from the LED’s in the magnifier depending upon angles.It would be nice if there was a sleeve to slide over the magnifier when not in use as a dust cover and to protect against lens scratching. The user guide has quite a list of caveats but they are mostly common sense. A small wipe down cloth is provided. The web page description covers the bases and the magnifier is well designed and constructed. It’ll make digging out splinters in the fingers quite a bit easier.

I actually got this for my mother who is 99 years old. So many magazines now print their pages in gray ink and it's not easily readable. The light and magnification really help with that. It's easy for her to use and doesn't get in her way when she's wearing it.

I really like the large size of the HQGZQL 6X Rechargeable Magnifying Glass and with the holder is great for hands-free reading. The gooseneck is quite flexible and you're able to bend it into many different positions. It's nice to have different brightness levels depending on what you're doing. Two thumbs up.
