Good item but not for my machine
Good quality ruler foot for the price, and I received it fairly quickly. Unfortunately, it does not work with my sewing machine (Brother DreamCreator Innov-is XE VM5100). With the presser foot lever down, the needle is not able to fully drop because the needle clamp hits the ruler foot. I'll update this review if I find a way to make it work.

Works on my Pfaff 4.2 Quilt Expression
Works as expected. I like that it is clear. I like the improved sight lines.

sits too low to be used for quilting
It sits too low on the fabric, even at its highest spot, and really doesn't work. I had tossed the package so didn't think I I could return it. So bummed!

Space between needle and back of foot
Did not fit my machine.

Too tall to fit on my Simplicity Heavy Duty Performer machine.
IT seems sturdy and is clear, but I can't use it so it does me no good.

FITS Viking Epic 2 machine
After a great deal of research, several foot purchases, and talking to a couple of Viking dealers, discovered the following:Husqvarna Viking Epic (and the Epic 2) are considered MEDIUM shank machines. My understanding is that several of the newer "designer" versions are also medium shank, so this foot may fit too. Although a short shank foot MAY work. The metal foot in the pictures is the foot sold by Viking dealers for the Epic machine. The price was about $30. Viking also recommends and sells short shank rulers for use with the machine. This plastic foot fits perfectly on the Viking Epic 2 machine. There is an adjustment to raise and lower the foot (slightly) via software. However, the metal foot has no other way to adjust, but works ok for most quilt sandwiches. If you have a thicker or thiner quilt, the metal foot may not work as well as this plastic version. The plastic foot shown in the pictures is the one sold here. This foot has a little adjustment via the slot on the side. Keep in mind, you cannot move it all the way up, as the slot is a little too long for the shank. Typically, I needed to move the foot down, so the plastic worked well for my purposes. In addition, it is easy to see your work through the clear foot.Look closely at the pictures. The GRID is comprised of 1/2 inch squares. The red squares on the ruler are 1/8 inch. On this foot there is more space between the bottom of the foot and bottom edge of the part that attaches to the shank. A 1/4 ruler is a little tight, but still fits behind the foot when quilting. A nice bonus. Although I was using short shank rulers for most of my quilting. Also, consider the price, well worth the purchase
