Works absolutely fine for spot cleaning. I have no idea what people are complaining about. It’s not hard to open or close. Filters are cheap and plentiful on line, just bought 6 for $20. It does not leak dust at all. It uses up the battery pretty quick, on a 3AH battery I was able to do a large stair case and some spot cleaning. Bought two 8AH batteries just now for $47 so should not have any issues for cleaning up here and there.

First, I must say that I have a lot of Makita 18V battery tools. I love them. This tool is compatible with my batteries and it’s the first handheld cordless vacuum that I’ve come across that is powerful and Makita compatible. In fact, this is probably my most used tool in my garage! I use it with the provided accessories as a sweeper in my garage (my wife hates dirt on the floor) and use it to often to vacuum my car. The suction is excellent! I use it so much that I put my ShopVac in the attic…sorry ShopVac. Cleaning out the debris is easy but you do have to line up the canister quite precisely to get it back on. That’s my only knock on this product but not enough to lower my rating.

It's a decent vacuum for the money BUT I agree with other reviewers that this vacuum is very cumbersome to assemble and disassemble. It also it a pain to empty, you have to remove the filter to empty the canister. Kinda useless to even have a hepa filter when ya gotta wear a dust mask. I also found that it clogs within the main body, and one has to run a rod to clear. Battery life is decent but not exceptional. Now for the good. It is powerful, I like it better than the handheld shop vac. It is also better than my M12 Milwaukee cordless for when you are cleaning floors with two extension tubes, more suction. I also like the true on/off switch Overall, it's a decent vacuum and I would recommend although the exceptions noted above. Its decent for floors, especially dust bunnies, cat hair, and light debris. I still prefer the Milwaukee M12 for close up jobs though.

Work fine for a few weeks then dies

I was skeptical about this brand and vacuum. The suction on this hand vacuum is amazing. A lot of power. Comes with attachments and extra filter. So far it’s great. Makita battery fits fine. Works great! It’s on the louder side. If you don’t mind it. It’s worth a buy

No problems at all like others have noted. For less than half the price of the Makita brand, defiantly a great value.

TLDR: This vacuum has good power, but is quite noisy and the filter lets a lot of dust pass back into the space you're vacuuming. A vacuum has two jobs; collect dust/debris and hold onto ot so it can be relocated elsewhere. This vacuum deals with hair, lint, and debris fantastically. It has surprisingly good suction and a floor attachment that doesn't collect hair. Unfortunately, when it comes to fine dust, the filter on this unit isn't tight enough to hold onto fine particles. After one brief use I examined the vacuum head and found an unacceptable ammount of dust on the inlet past the filter. I disassembled the filter housing and inspected the unit for defects/leaks, but none were found. The aforementioned fine dust just passed right through the filter. Unfortunately I'll be returning this unit as it will lead to more indoor air pollution and dusting.

I have been wanting a hand held vacuum for quite awhile now, and I am so pleased with this purchase! It's so handy to use - when you have just a little bit to vacuum up - and you don't want to get out the big vacuum. It's just so much easier to handle in certain cases. The kids also like using this to help clean up.
