Black Hair Dye Shampoo for Gray Hair, Semi-Permanent Hair Color Shampoo for Women and Men, 500ml

I never liked “just for men” and other alternatives. I figured I’d try this out on a whim and I have to say it’s perfect for me. It’s very easy to use, the bottle has two chambers inside it, when you press down on the dispenser it draws a thick liquid up from each, these then combine as it’s dispensed to form the dye shampoo. I personally don’t leave it in for the full (10?) minutes advised and leave it in for maybe 5 - which I find to be plenty. If I leave it in longer I feel my hair would be unnaturally black; since I’m now older and quite gray, I’d rather have a little hint of the grays than none at all like when I was in my early twenties. I find I need to apply this about once a week for it to be efffective - though I’ve definitely left it longer at two weeks before, it is noticeably faded by then. If you don’t wash your hair much it probably lasts longer but I wash mine every day as I use styling product in it and it has to be washed out! It definitely leaves your hair a dark, almost jet black colour, hence why I don’t leave it in the full time - I’m Irish so my natural hair colour is in actuality a very very dark brown (but looks black). It’s very effective and will last the week no problem. I like to think with it being semi permanent it’s not as damaging to my hair as full permanent, but who knows really. My only gripe with this is, if you leave it a week and then press down on the dispenser, the pressure seems to elevate over time, and it practically explodes out - I’ve now gotten into the habit of doing a first “test” blast into the sink first to be safe. Economically-wise, it lasts me ages. So far I’ve probably used it 5-6 times and it still has some left in it. Due to the packaging style I can just put it away in the cabinet until next time without making a huge mess. All in all very good, I’d recommend for sure.

The product works really well even when applied for a short time. But the bottle is shocking. Once you use the product the bottle doesn’t stop leaking. I have mine in a plastic bag now.

Honest to god, this product is a game changer (so far)! I’ve used “just for men beard” dye for a long time. Mixing and applying was an arduous task. Staining on skin was difficult to remove. It didn’t last long either. Although easier to use, Just for men “ controlgx” beard wash didn’t darken grey hairs either and both products felt like they were burning your skin alive! This product is so easy to apply, doesn’t feel like acid on my skin, hair feels conditioned, no stains on skin (if you keep an eye on darkened areas and wipe off) and is so quick to work. So far, can’t fault it. Only used once, so will update review if anything changes.

Does it cover greys? No Does it smell? Yes Does it colour? It coloured the basin, my door, a tile, grouting, but not my hair. Does it affect the texture of your hair after used? Yes, my hair felt dry and grassy afterwards. I used it the first time, not aware that I should shake the bottle. It says 3 in 1, which I took as premixed. Not the case - the bottle has three different sections that mixes when the spout is pressed. On the second try, I shook it mildly, and the colour came through the top of the squeezer - hence why there was colour on everything around me. The top half of the bottle then popped off, which was when I realised that contains the hair colour, and it was not mixing with the other two ingredients when pumped to use. I even used extra of the colour in the top half to see if it would cover my grey, or make any colour impact, and unfortunately it did not. I threw it in the bin yesterday, only to find all the colour had leaked out, and stained everything else around it. So no, don't do it, no matter how many influencers say you should.

Love this product. Easy to use. Definitely wear gloves when applying and rinsing as although it washes off skin, it can stain under fingernails. Other than that, great product and only need to use maybe every ten days or so. I use my own conditioner after rinsing which doesn't seem to affect colour. Also, I use a dark towel afterwards, but that would be normal for any hair dye. Would recommend.

Bought this based on the reviews which were mainly positive and rightly so. Colour was a perfect match for me. Application was easy too but I particularly liked the fact it didn’t dye my scalp so the result looked more natural. Worth every penny as far as I’m concerned!

The dye does not cover all greys and lasts a week max 2 week and than you get all the shades of the sun before the whotes starts showing. Good if you don't mind doing it once a week.
