Ballistic Precision Chronograph with FPS and MPS Readings, Sun Screens and Large LCD Screen for Range Shooting

Excellent bit of kit and a must for all air gun owners. Good quality, easy to use and a great price.

I needed a chronograph that I could use for both rifle shooting and archery and this fits the bill perfectly. And you don`t need an app on a smartphone to use it either unlike some other makes of chrono, but it can be used with the app if you prefer. Comes with a nice zip up bag for storage too.

The package has two sensors one at the front and one at the back which sense the movement across the device, the software checks the order the sensors are tripped and measures the time between the two trigger points. Having used it with a number of different bows and archers the device is susceptable to interference measuring speeds in excess of 400ft per sec (that is 272 mph) for an arrow from a recurve bow from one archer and then reading a similar arrow shot by a second archer on the same bow at around 170 ft per second which is much more likely (that is 115 mph). It also records a number of shots as errors due one of other sensor failing to trigger, again down to the way the archer was shooting. I suspect fitting the shields over the two sensors is more essential than suggested by the manual as we had the variable results when shooting under cover. To connect to a smart phone they supply a long cable that plugs into the microphone and headphone socket. I use a Samsung and it works well, however one reason that many people say it doesn't work is the cable that they supply. The connector has an extra layer of plastic that prevents the plug fitting the phone socket. A sharp knife is all you need to make sure the plug will fit by removing the extra layer of plastic, around the main connector, that prevents the plug from connecting properly with the phone. Overall the unit appears well made but the unit can produce bad results if the conditions are not right. I also picked up a second unit sold cheaply for spares, after a quick check of the innards the unit was restored to operation by re soldering the cables connecting one of the sensors so quality control of older units may not be as good as current ones.

Great product the unit works fine but some of the reviews on here I feel are unfair as its probably human error!! Note* on android after installation go to settings- apps- cadwell-permissons- enable all mic,camera etc and make correct use of the sun shades and use in light conditions..

The item is Faulty, i came to use it for the first time on Sunday 23rd June and it didn't work , it just doesn't show any readings at all when the pellet passes through , unfortunately for me i was out of the return period, as the packageing was in new condition and not damaged at all and i understand this is of a Quality product i didn't worry that it may be faulty , I jus wasn't ready to try it until yesterday , i'am really disappointed and out of pocket .

This is an excellent Chronograph and it's of good quality.

Very well made and solid chronograph but very picky on lighting conditions. Forever getting err2 and err3 followed by no response at all resulting in having to switch off and then on again to reset it. I had to make up some light strips to get it to "see" my pellets, easy to do but hassle some people may prefer to do without, still getting errors 2&3 quite often too! Think cautiously before purchasing as to whether to spend the extra on the FX Radar (no lighting problems on that)!! 3 stars for build quality only

Works absolutely perfect...used the jack plugs (cable length about 5m) to my android fone...downloaded the app.... boom...job done...does exactly what it suppose to do...for this price...can't go wrong...highly recommend...also delivered 6 days ahead of ETA

Nach dem ersten Auspacken waren die Sonnenabdeckungen schnell montiert und das Gerät bereit zum Testen. Auch wenn sich das Plastik nicht unbedingt hochwertig anfühlt, ist der Chrony super. Bei 20 Schüssen nur eine Abweichung von 1 fps. Geschossen wurde ein Kinderrecurvebogen mit 92 fps und ein Lever-Bow mit 195 fps. Aufzeichnung mit Iphone SE war problemlos möglich. So macht das Gerät einen guten ersten Eindruck. Für den Bogenschützen nur zu empfehlen.

J'utilise cet appareil pour vérifier la vitesse de sortie des flèches quand je règle mon arc. En MPS ou FPS. Il fonctionne très bien en tir extérieur, à l'intérieur il faut un bon éclairage. Très pratique et précis.

Ottimo e indispensabile se si ricarica munizioni,soprattuto quando cambio polvere sono sempre a fattore con questo cronografo utile,semplice e funzionale.la sua app non funziona correttamente ma leggevo che dipenda dallo smartphone Per i commenti negativi non teneteli conto,nella descrizione c'e' scritto per uso esterno altrimenti necessita del kit infrarosso,si pretende troppo a poco!Ottimo e consigliato dopo 1 anno di utilizzo si conferma indispensabile

THIS IS MY FIRST CHRONO AND I CLOSED MY EYES AND WENT FOR IT! After spending a whole day reading reviews and watching videos of different units I bought this one. First time users of course have to experience the world of (exceptable) lighting conditions and all that comes with the dance of maintaining the right kind and amount of light above the 2 sensors so that the unit works and is accurate. As far as reviews go, check out the reviews for the higher priced units and yes you will find the same complaints regardless of price. My strategy/approach was to buy the cheapest unit I could find that had enough good reviews to indicate that the unit could work well enough to get the job done. Many people gave this basic chronograph good reviews and like the better units some complained of getting a lemon. After playing with this chrono for just a few hours ( and doing the research) I am comfortable in knowing what to look for in a chrono I believe. Fortunately this (my first ever) unit seems to work perfectly out of the box and with all types of projectiles both fast and slow. For example i have a spring loaded BB pistol that shoots at 100 FPS and have shot hand loaded bullets at over 3700 FPS with consistence accurate readings. The phone/tablet app loaded fast and worked as described (except the app will not allow for deletion of error shots without saving then editing) This unit is basic in that it will only give a readout of the speed and do no calculations UNLESS it is paired with a android/apple phone or tablet and a external source application for various computations. This I like because my eyesight is poor and I would rather have my data displayed remotely next to me. Plus I can customize my remote display device and type. The unit is well built well and is sturdy and the readout is large enough and instant. Basically just 3 functions on one switch which are OFF- feet per second- meters per second. Other than that their are 2 ports for data connection to a external device which are a usb type port and a ear phone type plug. This unit takes a 9 volt battery and the battery compartment is big enough to hold a spare battery. This unit does have a camera mount type thread receiver on the bottom for using on a tripod or other type holding set up. I feel fortunate that I bought a unit that works as advertised,of good quality, and really cheap ($69.00) Not sure if I will ever need anything more but I can understand the value and preference of having a unit that does the string calculations WITHOUT having to utilize external devices and cables so this model may not be what some need or want, especially when you can get such features for for just a few dollars more. UPDATE JULY 14 2017 Have since purchased 2 more of these units to have on hand at different locations that I travel to and have had no issues with the units as long as I set up the lighting environment adequately. I wish the unit would reset automatically after having a read error when not using the remote app.
