extremely well made
This was the last piece of my " puzzle " to install a vintage bathroom vent fan in my 1950's bathroom. I liked the combination of outdoor pest/bird protection and built in flapper . This vent has some heft to it and is perfectly square . The construction and materials used is very high quality . I seldom write reviews this product deserves 5 stars . Once received I realized the approximately 2 week delivery time was well worth it . Something tells me these are hand made . Although it is true that this arrived sans any instructions , it is pretty straight forward ,. Depending on what you will connect to it you might need to do some crimping .Trust me when I say there is no comparison between this vent and the made in china vents available at your local big box store . I would recommend this product .

Very good quality - needs to be painted though.
This is a very good quality product. It is very tight and square. The flap and opens and closes very nicely on the front. The only thing is, I vented through a concrete wall so just to make sure that it doesn't rust, I painted it with some oil based paint. I wish that the collar was a little longer. 8 inches doesn't go through the entire block wall so I had to extend it before sliding it into the wall. Not too big of a deal. I used a can of spray foam to hold it in place and it is very solid and tight.A little pricy but then again, what isn't? It is a good quality product. I would buy it again.

Best I could find
Redid the kitchen and vented the hood outside, so I needed a vent cover. I wanted something that looked decent, had a "critter screen", and a working flap. This was the only one that seemed to fit the bill and come in the right size (8"). Took a week or so to arrive but looks good, was easy to install (once we cut the hole in the concrete wall), and works just as it should. No complaints. I think my brother is going to get one as well.

Works well. Flap opens up when blower is on, closes when it's turned off.
Overall, a good bit of metalwork. I wish it had the option of a corrugated flange on the end of the pipe - maybe they can add an expansion flange or reduction flange to add to their pipe? My range hood required ductwork to go on in a certain direction, and I ended up with a straight edge pipe meeting strait edge pipe somewhere in the middle. Not the worst case, I worked around it by snipping little cuts into one duct to get it to go into the other, then a lot of aluminum tape around the joint. Works just fine, but would be easier if there were the corrugated flange option, or extra piece available to order.I used this duct to vent a new range hood in an old brick building. Went thru 5 layers of brick with a hammer drill and 5" core bit, which ended up being about 6 feet long overall and 80 lbs. While sitting atop a 10' ladder. Not easy. But got 'er done. Good thing I'm a pretty awesome dude.

Well made, no restrictions
This is a well mad vent with a huge cross sectional area and proper baffle with metal mesh. It is not the cheapest vent out there, but it is probably the best. This vent will not be the restriction in your airflow, and it looks to be very well made. Installed easily, we backed it with a few layers of pvc trim for rot resistance. Silicones the hell out of all the surfaces and got it done.

Very functional
I put this in as a replacement for the vent cover that my contractor installed for a vent hood. We were getting a lot of backdraft. The spring loaded louvre works perfectly. Opens with minimal effort of my hood but does not get sucked open with high winds outside.Problem solved!

Great Quality Vent Cover
There is no comparison between this vent cover and the junk that is offered at the big box hardware store. The metal is much thicker and more rigid. The seal is tight and keeps cold air out of the house. I will never let a contractor buy a tin foil vent cover for me again. This vent cover is well worth the price. I will be replacing all of my vent covers with these.

Poor QC
The white Vent arrived with finger prints on it. The hinge pin was too short to reach the bushings that were supposed to hold it. Looks like a defective hood that was returned, reboxed and sold to me.
