Brilliant
This is the only product that seems to help my daughter. Thankyou

It's just a TENS machine.
I bought one of these elsewhere for my partner. She was apparently swayed by the "off switch for period pain" marketing slogan. According to her it made absolutely no difference whatsoever to her pain. She tried various settings and positioning of the pads, all to no avail. This Livia device is a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation device ie. No different than a TENS machine. What we have here is a case of expired patent exploitation combined with rebranding and a slick marketing campaign. If you search online you will be able to confirm this for yourself. Further to this, the details of the study cited as evidence for the efficacy of the device, make for very interesting reading. Yes, I know. There's no "verified purchase" badge. I have seen recently however that this thing is apparently gaining popularity here in the UK, after having been on sale in the US for a while and with xmas fast approaching some of you chaps out there might see this and think it would make an excellent xmas gift - don't bother. Or if you do, get a backup gift also.

First day in 13 years without pain relief
Livia is great. I was a bit skeptical at first as I’ve struggled with my period for 13 years now and had to take ibuprofen and other pills to get through the first day. Now I have acid reflux so can’t take them any more, and decided to try Livia. It takes a bit of time to figure out how it actually works but you need strong vibrations (feels like a moving hedgehog on your tummy) to make it work. You feel the vibration but not the pain, as the brain can’t feel both. even though you’re aware of the pain being there sometimes, that’s when you adjust your settings. The best thing is that after the initial strong awareness of the vibration, you forget about it as you go about your day. So you basically end up feeling nothing, which is the objective! I also used it in the night and managed to fall asleep successfully. I used it for the full 12 hours and it worked, but if your pain lasts for longer, you’d have to wait for it to charge again. Generally it takes some time of getting used to, especially the settings and the zap when you get to stronger settings, but it’s better than pills. Do make sure you tried all the settings and gave yourself time to get used to them. I guess like with everything, the next period is going to be more straightforward! Recommended.

Struggles gone
I'm struggling for years now from myomas and the realated menstrual cramps, taking a lot of painkillers that only help for a couple of hours and then come back. This device actually made the pain go away and I'm in love with it.

It’s an option for those with mild period pain, anything above that is still going to struggle
So...i must start this review by saying if you are considering buying this product DO NOT buy from livia’s Website, buy from amazon instead! I am currently undergoing a 3 months ordeal from trying to get my money back from cancelling that order and going with amazons faster delivery instead, and still haven’t to this day. Now, the product itself. So to put it bluntly, it’s very weird on first usage. It’s very similar to those electrical ‘abs making’ devices and at the higher settings it can be like muscle spasms, so would recommend a very low setting first to get used to it. I have moderate period pain, so usually one day of painkillers then I’m ok, so this product can work for that. For the two periods I’ve had since having this I haven’t used painkillers, BUT I’ve still had pain (slightly milder) so would I personally recommend? If you want to flush your body of relying on painkillers...yes. If you have the willpower to do so, this will help a little. Would I recommend as pain free? No. After you take a couple painkillers, for me the pain is gone so this this still seems to be the best method. I would recommend for those that have mild period pain and want to decrease it, but for those with moderate to severe, this just isn’t going to cut it.

1st of all, I want to say thank you, thank you for making this product! I am very hesitant about spending this much money on something that wouldnt help with relief. My daughter has cramps monthly from her cycle. She is so sick the first few days prior and the following 2 days after she starts her menstrual cycle. We have tried everything natural that you can think of and ended up resorting to meds to help with pain. Finally she maxed out on pain meds and still was in pain! I researched the Livia Device and thought I will try anything to help relive my daughter's pain. She got this just in time! It has to charge before use, so she opened it and charged it just in time for the cramps to begin! We finally found help!!! She took, "1 TYLENOL" through the whole start to finish of cramps!! That is HUGE and she used the Livia Menstrual Pain Relief Device and it worked!!! She kept thanking me for the help! If you are second guessing the purchase of this little miracle device, just buy it! It is small enough to wear without being noticed. We also purchased extra sticky pads.

This is an amazing product, but me having endometriosis and pcos means my pain isn’t in just one spot so having only two electrode pads is so hard because I need more.. also the gel comes off the pads on to my skin pretty often. This thing works like a tens unit but much better.. just wish I had more than two electrode pads…

I got this after using a regular tens unit for several months. I get really bad cramps, and this method deals with about the first 80%. I believe I have endometriosis though, so when they’re at their worst, this method just can’t keep up. The tens unit was great, but had some distinct disadvantages. Tens wires are about 30 inches long and get tangled on everything, and the unit has no clip so it would just kind of float around in my clothes. Also, as it was a “massage” unit, there was no option for “on”, it was all various pulses and weird fade ins. I picked the mode I liked best and it did work, but there was a built in timer that auto set for 20 min and then only went up to 60, so there was a lot of messing around with the unit during use. I got the 20$ tens to try out the method and it does work pretty darn well, but educate yourself on how it is most effective. Putting the pads on over where it hurts may not be the best way. So I finally invested in the livia for the more streamlined product, and overall I’m satisfied. I wish the increments were smaller, sometimes one is too weak and the next is too strong. And turns out I kind of miss the pulsing, the “always on” function can make my skin a little bothered. Also I wish the leads were just a little longer, when I have it on my back (my favorite place for it), it can be hard to reach and when it’s on my front, I wish the jell pads could go further apart. Finally, I’m irritated that they’re so proprietory with their jell pads, as regular tens pads are basically the same thing and dirt cheap. I oscillated between leaving 3 and 4 stars, but really the product does work for its intended purpose.

I have horrible cramps, most times I throw up (or nearly) from the pain and every time I can't stand up straight for at least the first 2 days. I also have to take off work a lot because of this. I was very interested in Livia after seeing all those Facebook ads and reading the comments. I first ordered directly from their site and 5 minutes later realized I can get it from Amazon in 2 days rather than 3 weeks! I canceled right away so they never sent it and it took several months and the BBB to get refunded. They only have an email and no phone number to call, the lady was super friendly and nice but it was all talk and no action. In the mean time I was using the one I bought here. I got this delivered just before my July period. The first 2 periods were ok, I could at least stand up straight for a short time. After that I got used to it and I had to increase the intensity and it was awesome. I was still in pain but much less so and I could move and act normal. In October, I went on a trip for a week and knew I was getting my period but I was not worried because I had my Livia, but even though I gave it a full charge for days on end and took it off the second I got my period, the charge died a few hours later. I even tried to sleep next to an outlet and have it plugged in while using it but it wouldn't allow me to, what a bummer!!!! Now it's December and my Livia is nearly dead.... I charged it fully and it died in less than a minute. I put it on the charger (hunched over and cross-eyed) and an hour later when I left for work I got enough charge to last my commute. Now I am at work and I keep having to take it off to charge it. This product stinks. I'm looking into other TENS devices and I think I settled on one, will buy that and see. I'm desperate to get through my periods and still be able to go to work and stand up straight.

Charged the product 12 hours as suggested and wouldn’t work. Has full power, turning up intensity no tingling at all. Very disappointed in this for the price of the product.
