These will actually cut and peel. The peeler may be capable of cutting a finger if a kid were to mishandle it; but honestly paper or the edge of a table could, too. For kids, it is going to be about supervision and gauging their age and ability. I am thinking we need one of these in the car for those times we want to split a sandwich or an apple on a road trip. I was able to cut a plum and peel a potato just fine. I cut the potato but not very precisely.

Kids love to copy what adults do, and that doesn’t stop in the kitchen. For many, the copying actually gets more intense. And that’s where this knife set comes in. It’s dull enough to give to my toddler without having to worry about him cutting himself but sharp enough to actually cut through soft items (more ripe fruits and veg). I'm pretty impressed by this knife set. Testing them out on some cucumbers and they performed well for both cut and peel. The knives seem safe, won't cut skin it's a saw type blade. The peeler is pretty sharp but shaped so you would have to run your finger length ways across the blade to cut skin and would be like a paper cut. Should def explain and watch the little ones with this. It's a really cute set. Small enough for little hands and easy to use. Knives are pretty durable but the cutting board is super thin so it won't last long. I would recommend for youngsters to start learning knife safety and coordination. My nephew has been using a butter knife and loves slicing veggies. He is really going to LOVE this set, will make for better slicing, peeling fun.

The cutting board is a bit thin but not bad. It's definitely not as thick as other kids cutting boards we own which is why I gave the set 4 stars. The knives work well. The peeler depends on what you are trying to peel-- it's adequate on carrots or potatoes with thin skins but doesn't work well on veggies with thick skins. Perfect for children or those with disabilities who should not use sharp knives.

Veggie peeler broke the second my son used it. Would help if the prongs holding it together weren't thin plastic

My 7 year old uses them with ease for Cucumbers and tomatoes when she wants a snack.I couldn't find my pizza cutter for my dough so I used this and it cut right through with a breeze. These are awesome. 👌

My 6yo daughter really wanted to help out more in the kitchen, so I got her these to practice her cutting skills. They’re perfect for cutting fruits like watermelon, strawberries, bananas etc. She’s now more than capable of making her own parfaits! Super easy to use and clean. Took a star off for the flimsy cutting board that stains easily. Otherwise would highly recommend this product, definitely worth the price than other brands.

I love getting the kids in the kitchen and they love it too! This set keeps us all safe and allows them to learn and contribute all at the same time. These cutting tools are easy to use, aren’t too heavy, and are easy to clean. Great set.
