Really Pleased! (also Omega Paw comparison)
This is quickly becoming one of those products I keep raving about to friends and family. I have two senior cats--one 12-pound male and one 6-pound female. I had been using an Omega Paw for about 2 years and really liked the scoop-free hassle. However, my male has started several habits that make it pretty ineffective now, such as not covering his buried treasure and drinking so much water that clumps wouldn't fit into the tray. Punk. I tried different litters but it made no difference. It's another kitty conspiracy, really, which is nothing new, but fortunately the female goes in and covers up after him (is this not typical?). Needless to say, since I had to scoop anyway, I wanted something where I could get a little more benefit, such as with not having to take the cover off constantly or being able to see when the box needed changing. I also wanted something with a little more room. While the Omega Paw is bigger than this box by a little bit, most of the interior is taken up by a grate that sifts the litter, making it not-so ideal for large cats and probably a little less sanitary. Aside from that, I do like it but wanted to try something that would be easier for scooping. I saw the Catit box and, since I love their scratcher (also recommend), I figured I'd give it a go. I'm really happy with it so far. Actually, I've been pretty impressed. It's extremely well constructed, even better than the Omega Paw and it's the best I've seen yet. The handle is great and it has more than enough room for them--whether height, depth, or width wise. The smallest is very petite, almost the size of an 8-month-old kitten, but she can even get out of it with ease. I think the carbon filter, while a bit messy when installing, is a great feature and it does help with residual smells (not so much right after they go). So far, mine haven't tried to kill it, but they have their scratcher thingy. The filter also appears to be pretty inexpensive on here. I loved the fact that it has a convertible top, which is likely my favorite feature and the main selling point for me. This makes it extremely easy to check when it needs to be changed in my fairly dark restroom area, and it helps with being able to sift without having to take a hood off or stick your hand inside--something I really don't like, being a huge germaphobe. I can even add more litter without removing the hood, which is great since I am most lazy. While big in size, I don't feel that it takes over my tiny space where the box sits in, next to the toilet and shower stall, and less litter comes out--though it's not going to 100% prevent it. The color is also nicer and a bit more taupe than in the picture, which I prefer. The other feature I really loved while browsing was the clear door--both for the sake of preventing odors and when it came to preventing less litter from being scattered. It also allows you to see in without having to lift the hood. My cats, of course, did not want to use the box without the door since they never had one before (and the better to torture me with), so I left it off for a week, keeping the lid bearing the carbon filter folded down up top. I just tried it again tonight to see if they would use it, now that they've been using the box longer. While the more adventurous female hasn't tried yet, due to prioritized napping, the extremely timid male, who would normally be the one not to go for it, got right in. Thrilled! Especially since he is the odor culprit and prone to going right after I sift tut. I also don't smell a dang thing, even though I know he just did the stenchy bit. So I'm even more happy about it and the fact that fallout won't be wafting into my bedroom area. Finally. Therefore, I definitely recommend trying the door later if your cat doesn't take to it immediately. Other than that, I'm very pleased and highly recommend. :)

Highly recommend
Very sturdy easy to assemble really holds the smell. Very easy to take apart when you need to clean it. I love the cat door it really does help with the cats spray urine in there. You might have to show your cat how to go in and out . I really love the fact that it keeps the litter in the box because my cats like to dig all the way to the bottom . It's definitely sturdy because my cat jumps on it all the time trust me everything is their playground. I tried to use bag liners I wouldn't even bother because with the locking mechanism on it it doesn't work very well it's very easy to clean and get the urine smell out . It does have little filters you can put for smell I do like that about it. It's very roomy and I have two cats that use it and they're not small. Also there is a little lip you can hook a bag to the front where the door is as you are cleaning the litter box so you're not fumbling with a bag trying to hold it open and scoop at the same time.

Excellent buy.
Great littler box and just the right size to fit in our smaller laundry room. The all plastic design is great and does not get scratched up when scooping. Love the front where you can position a bog to scoop out the contents. The lift-up lid makes it easy to,scoop and refill litter. Much nicer than a significantly more expensive stainless steel box we purchased that started rusting almost immediately after purchase.

It's a Good Litter Box but Clean Thoroughly.
So I have 2 of these for 2 cats, neither of them are particularly huge cats, 12 and 6-ish pounds respectively. To make it simpler here are some pros and cons I've had with it the year and a half I've had them. Pros: •Durable, it may not FEEL particularly durable but I've actually been able to pick them up via the plastic handle with 20 lb's of litter in it. Would I wholeheartedly trust it? Absolutely not, it IS plastic and not super thick, it is also very bendy so careful not to deform the bottom specifically. •Cleaning, it is rather easy to clean when disassembling it but it is a MUST you take it apart especially if you have a sprayer like myself. •Size, as I briefly mentioned these are rather large litter boxes which for me was perfect but do make sure to look at dimensions. •Odor, Honestly I feel like these contain odor surprisingly well, I could also be a bit blind to the smell though if we're being honest. Cons: •In regards to durability I will say, it IS plastic so my cats have definitely scratched the hell out of the bottom •Containment, it doesn't really help contain litter much but my cats are notoriously messy so. •Leakage and build up, if you have a sprayer like myself when they pee on the side it pools in between the cover and the bottom, it pools in the lip and WILL leak out the sides slightly if your cat pees near the clamps so be sure to remove the clips when cleaning the litter box. All in all it's been a good litter box but the urine has been by far the biggest issue I have with it and if you aren't fond of the bottom getting scratched up this isn't any sturdier than a walmart litter box. I also personally remove the covers when scooping but mine are also crammed in a little corner so.

Great price, great box, from kittens to old or really fat cats. This works great! Doesn't take up A lot of room either-
Big enough for larger ( or fat ones! Lol) cats but no so big that it takes up a lot of room. I work with my local VSA & sometimes would take in kittens, cats when the shelter was full. Someone told me that the large plastic storage bins ( Walmart , target $10) without the lid, make good large cat boxes & no litter gets out! We got the clear ones & they did work well. Cats jumped right in & out no problem. Well , my cat has got a few years older & a lot fatter! The vet said it's genetic & she's predisposed to be heavy (?) , so wet grain free food diet etc. but she couldn't jump into those bins any longer! I looked at some litter boxes in the pet stores & they were cheaply made yet not cheap in price. I saw this one & gave it a try! Wow , it's great! Very sturdy & well made. The hole is wide enough for my very fat cat to get in & out easily. The top lifts for easy scooping without having to remove the whole top & unlock the sides, which is very convenient . It has a carbon filter for smells that's cheap to replace. If your cat has never had a hooded box before, the top of this lifts up & will stay up ( as I said to scoop easily) & it makes it more OPEN for cats to get use to the hood. I had no problems with any getting right in it. I went to a pets supply that I go to when I can't get my Amazon stuff as quickly as I need it, & they had this same litter box- $49.99 ! They had a smaller sized one of this that was $38 . I couldn't believe it! I bought 2 more when I got home. They are easy to clean & the litter doesn't stick to the bottom of this one, sometimes I would have sludge like spots on the bottom that were so hard to scrape off ! I clean them each day ( scoop out & wash weekly), I think it may be the litter I used? I use Dr. Elsely's litter in Blue bag 40lb for about $14 & these boxes are great! Cut down on the stinky smells sometimes from them too, with the good the carbon filter on top! Oh, also it low enough for kittens to get in, or fat cats, old cats.... I know ppl ask that on these , so yes I don't see any problem with the kittens or the older cat thats very heavy getting in this. But I don't have litter all over either! One likes to dig to China after he's done & with any normal litter box I had the Sahara dessert of litter to clean up! Hence why we got the large plastic totes , which worked wonders, until the fat one couldn't get in any longer. But I love these! No mess , easy to clean, cats love them, easy in & out for all sizes. Highly recommend . Also you can't beat this price! Seriously, pet stores are 2x at least the amount on here. ( uh I hope the don't raise the price now!! 😁) . Ps. I got the other 2 from the warehouse , said like new but a few blemishes less than 2% on top , back or side. Well I didn't notice anything except one TINY scratch on 1 side of a box & who's gonna notice or care about that?!! It was like $5-$6 cheaper! Great deal. Chk the "used" prices, they aren't actually used! Just a scratch here or there or the outer box isn't perfect. I always save money that way, it's great! Hope this helps someone & their loved furry family member! Okay well the cat. There's some pretty furry men out there that could use some manscaping , waxing, pruning,mowing- hey whatever works! Unless you like hugging a sweaty sweater. Hey, I don't judge. I'm sure it might be nice on a cold night 🐻? Anyway...... Have a great day, Jenn~

Purrfect!
Purrfect! You wouldn't think a litter box was a big deal...until it is. We started with a litter pan. The litter was everywhere, the smell was overpowering and not contained, the pan area itself was small, and sometimes things wouldn't quite make it inside. I looked at many, many different types of boxes and read many, many reviews before choosing this one. Pros: *Large Size. You can use an entire box of litter in it and still have plenty of room (which I did). This helps to cut down on smell and give the cat plenty of clean areas to use if you don't get to it right away. There's also plenty of room for a large adult cat to maneuver-no reason for the cat to feel trapped or uncomfortable. For the first couple weeks, we left the door open so the cat could become accustomed to it. Now, it stays closed all the time. I honestly think the cat prefers this. I think it feels safe and not as vulnerable-kinda like we do with a door on the stalls in a bathroom. And, best of all, what's supposed to be "in" the litter box stays in. Even if the cat backed up to the entrance, the door would keep it all inside. *Smell (or lack of). I honestly cannot smell the litter box (or should I say-what's in it) and I am pretty sensitive to it. It's my teenage son's cat and the box is in his room and I'm pretty sure that he doesn't clean it as often as he probably should. When I enter his room, I smell a teenage boy's room-not a kennel. (Those of you with teen boys will know what I'm talking about...) *Durability. The box has four fold up clips (2 on one side and 2 on the other) that secure the top to the bottom/base. This thing is heavy (remember we use an entire box of litter) and I was hesitant when lifting it by the handle at first-I could just imagine the clip breaking or coming loose and the entire contents ending up all over my floor! I did not need to worry everything has held together fine. In fact, after 4 months of use, it looks like we just bought it. *Ease of cleaning. Daily cleaning/scooping is easy. The door and piece above the door flip & fold up on top of the box and there's plenty of room to reach in. The clips snap on & off, so you can also easily lift the top off to scoop. When replacing all of the litter, we just pop off the top, dump litter into a trash bag and spray off with a hose. Could not be easier. Cons: *Size. It's large size is great for the cat, but it is very noticeable in a room and takes up a good area. We also have a Large Purr-fect Pet Purr-fect Paws Cat Litter Mat SKU: 1221086 that we purchased for $14.99 from Petco that I highly recommend. This mat goes under the litter box and covers the floor in front of the box. When the cat exits, any litter on it's paws are trapped in the mat and not tracked all over the house. We just take that out and shake it outside or spray clean as needed. Anyway, both combined take up a large area. It's a small price to pay and I am purrfectly fine dealing with this, rather than some of the other issues! I highly recommend, if the size is fine for you, that you look no further and purchase this litter box!

Perfect-sized Litter Box; Door Helps Deter Dogs
I have two, normal-sized, adult cats and a poop-eating dog. I think most standard-sized litter boxes you see in stores are too dinky for even a single cat. I mean, they'll use it because they have to, but it won't be comfortable and those boxes will fill up really fast (even for someone scooping a couple times a day), and for some cats, a too-small litter box can even exacerbate back problems and make them start having behavioral problems going potty outside their box (saw it on that Cat Whisperer TV-show on Animal Planet). My second litter box (yes, you should have at least one for every cat EVEN IF you have a big litter box like this) is el cheapo plastic hooded litter box from Wal-Mart. It came with a door, but my cats kept knocking it out, so I just removed it. You'd knock the door out, too, if you were a cleanliness-loving, normal-sized cat, with a penchant for smacking things, trying to poop in a claustrophobia-inducing pee-poop box. And then with the door gone, my poop-eating dog would far too easily help herself to a gritty, nasty, little snack every chance she got (which was pretty much every time a cat pooped and I wasn't there to tell her no--which was a few times a day). Few things are more revolting than your dog smacking on cat turds and little bits of litter stuck to her lips. And then, there's the Catit Jumbo Hooded Cat Litter Pan. The door is well-attached, easy to see through, but a bit more discouraging to poop-thieving dogs, and the cats not only figured it out pretty fast (even the slow cat), but they can't knock it out. Even if they wanted to, which they probably don't really, since they have enough room to dig, poop, and bury like a normal, adult cat without having to make awkward, cramped contortions. Both the flap door and the big gray square you see with the filter in it fold up so you don't even have to remove the lid of the box to scoop it. Also, the top can actually lock onto the bottom (like, really locked, not just snapped shut like on a normal box). I imagine that's so the box is not going to come apart if/when you try to pick it up from the handle with litter still in it. I don't know why you'd want to move a whole litter box with litter still in it, but I can imagine having the bottom break loose and spill litter everywhere would be...well, less than pleasant. It's easy to clean, holds a lot of litter, and is made of pretty durable plastic. I haven't noticed my dog stealing poop since I started using this box, but I wouldn't put it past some really determined dogs (you know if you have one). I've heard if you face the box towards a wall with only enough space for the cat to get in and out, that also helps with keeping dogs out (provided your dog is bigger than your cat). The only thing is, one of my cats decided early on that he'd rather have an open-air skylight than a filter on top. He quickly removed the filter and roughed it up beyond usability, but I don't plan to replace it. If you scoop the box regularly and use a small, lidded, step-opening, stainless steel trash can (inexpensive and can be gotten at Wal-Mart) to throw the scooped-out stuff every time you scoop, that really cuts down on any smells from your cat potty area and also thwarts poop-eaters well. I feel like filters are kind of a gimmick to get you to keep spending money on the product. Just scoop regularly, discard the poop thoroughly, and replace the litter when it gets too crumbly, and you should be fine. Then again, I'll admit I've never been really sensitive to smells--any smells--like some people. But I've asked people if they could smell any cat smell in my place, and they have always said no, so I guess I must be doing okay. Hope this helps.

Fantastic!!!
My kitties range in age from 10 to 15, and they all love it!!! I purchased this as I needed a box that would fit my 24 pound boy. Shockingly, he is comfortable with it and has no issues at all! I thought I was stuck with open litter boxes forever due to his size (he is just very large in all ways, not fat) and if you have the same concerns that I did, rest assured that this is a great size for your big kitty! Would definitely repurchase, it is much more well constructed than I originally expected for the cost.

Very good quality
Very big and easy to clean, my cat got used to it very shortly and she seems to have a good time using it. The plastic is very resistent and i appreciate the odors filter because I have it in the same room i work in!

Large litter box for a good price. Recommend!
This is a really good litterbox! My cat is 22 weeks old and we just got him home with us. You can leave the front open and when your cat is used to the box, you can put the flap down. This feature is also handy when cleaning the litterbox on a daily basis. This is a pretty large litterbox and will accommodate larger cats easily. The top can also be removed for a complete litterbox refresh. There are 4 clips, 2 on each side. There is a filter at the top and a carry handle. Recommend!
