Buttery and vibrant - a joy to use
I didn’t know what to expect with these but I’m just starting art for the first time since I was in high school and honestly I’d never tried anybreally high quality products before. I got some Faber-Castell pencils that are okay but pretty hard and they take a lot of work for colour payoff which hurt my hand tremendously. I decided to take a chance and with these I was just so incredibly SHOCKED at how good they are (especially at this price).First of all, right away you can feel the difference from cheaper pencils, they have a soft creamy payoff, it barely takes any pressure to get a good colour payoff, the word “buttery” comes to mind, it’s just so easy and light and really alleviates the pressure on my arm and hand. If I had to liken it to anything, it’s like a kohl makeup pencil (yet not smudgy or soft enough to break easily). If you get hand pain from colouring, these are ideal. The colours are incredibly rich and vibrant - they all have names on the pencils which is fantastic as it’s easier to remember a colour name than a number.Of course as pencils alone the colours are vibrant and rich on paper (especially a good mixed media paper) but the moment you activate them with water, it just goes to a whole new level of vibrancy, it intensified the shades dramatically and they really blend seamlessly (as long as you don’t go overboard with the water). What really surprised me is that they sharpen so easily compared to my other pencils, the sharpener blade just slides across the wood with no resistance and gives a lovely sharp point effortlessly - haven’t had a break yet.Do I recommend these? Absolutely. I’ve read they have decent colourfastness (in other words, drawings are a bit resistant to light fading etc over time) for starter level artists and the range of shades is superb enough to let you do practically anything you want.Only disappointing pencil was the white which isn’t soft enough to layer onto the others or blend (might need to get an alternative for that or just preserve your highlights).Otherwise am over the moon. Case feels expensive too (although the trays inside are a bit flimsy but make it easy to see what you’re looking for without taking through colours). You’re definitely getting more than you pay for here.

Quality collection which does the job for the price; maybe not for serious watercolour use.
Well, I’ve put 5 stars although I originally thought they deserved 4. They are very easy and smooth to use on application, lovely to look at and hold, keep a sharp point without breaking and are exceptional value for the price. . . as an ordinary coloured pencil. They look like Faber Castells water coloured pencils but they are definitely not. This is why I allocated 4 stars for ease of use, because as soon as you try to apply a wash, you’re going to be scraping around for pigment and then reach for your better quality pencils. But that’s expected for the price. They are brilliant for normal colouring and if you just want a very light subtle wash! Colours very similar to Fabers. It is a lovely collection to have, being presented in a sturdy quality tin, as you don’t have to worry about using them and wearing them down - just buy another collection! And the price is amazing, especially if you get a deal, as in every other respect, they appear to be an artists’ quality pencil.

Nice vibrant colours
I'm really happy with these pencils. I've used watercolour pencils in the past and found that it was hard to get rid of the pencil marks without scrubbing the brush repeatedly, which often damaged the paper. But these are lovely and with just a little water you can move the colour around and get the same effect that you would with watercolour paints. There are some lovely colours and they're quite vibrant when activated, similar to Inktense sticks which really come alive when water is added. The lightfastness seems good on the majority of the colours, there are a few that are less lightfast, but unless you're planning on selling your original artwork this shouldn't be an issue for most people. Good quality and really good value for money, I would definitely recommend these to others.

Truly Professional Results
Great quality and pigment when used as pencil or watercolour.Disappointed as 2 colours the same.. Carmine Red A049! Missing BEST Red - the Crimson A078.Factory issue or out of stock and 2 colours put in to make up set??Expect more from Arteza a Professional Brand. All in all though these achieve the MOST amazing results for such a superb price.

Great value
I usually draw with graphite pencils so I really can't say that I know how to draw with colour pencils or what to expect. But from my limited experience and from reading reviews I would dare to say that this is one nice set with great value. You get that handy metal case with 3 plastic trays for pencils, so they can be stored nicely. Pigmentation seems to be rather high, colours are vibrant, easy to use. Also, in that set you get 11 pencils that are 1st quality grade, 20 2nd grade, and 41 3rd quality grade - apparently that grade is a guarantee how long will colour stay unchanged.

Value for money, intense colour and easy to use.
Great range of colours. Easy to blend with rich, intense pigment. Really useful to have a code for every pencil on the colourfast ability.Would absolutely buy again, even though so far I have only done a small "doodle" dry, and not yet used them with water for their watercolour effect. One thing to note is that they come with a square point so having a good sharpener to hand for fine detail is a must!

Awsome choice.
These are versatile and can be used dry or wet. Great if you rub wet brush then on to paper. When they say expert I agree loads of pigment great value for the price. They are beautiful, and durable . They are able to hold a sharp point and don't break. Very happy with them.

Great product
I didn't realize they were watercolour but I am glad I got them. They work great as regular pencil crayons and work nicely as watercolour pencil crayons. I have been using them like crazy. The price was on point and it comes with so many colours.

Really good value for money
I’m a beginner and not a professional artist. These are the first watercolour pencils I’ve ever bought and I like how they perform, I’ve been enjoying using them, they’re easy to use, blend nicely and even when dry they have nice pigmentation and can be used like regular coloured pencils. The color variety in the 72 pencil set is really good, and it’s possible to mix them to make new colours too. I bought them when they were on sale in November, so the price was great.
