Perfect for adding a little one, despite not being marketed that way.
I watched all the product videos and read all of the brochures and nowhere does Perception recommend putting a kid back there while you paddle, but you totally can. My little boy sometimes he just wants to relax with his old man, and how can I deny him of that? He weighs about 75lbs and I weigh about 185lbs and the boat does great, even in moderate wind and waves. The only other thing to note is that you can't really use a normal cheapo kayak cart. You really need one that either has a deep U shape, or one that has long bunks. The keel on this boat is really deep both on the front and back, and it's a heavy kayak. I'd give a +1 for being able to be stored upside down. The rounded backrest on the rear seat makes it easy to flip over without damaging it. Overall, totally better than a tandem, and small enough to get along with the rest of my gear. Happy kid, happy Dad.

Heavy.
I love it. But it is a lot heavier than I expected. I can’t handle myself. I love the seats. I have shorter legs and it is very comfortable for me. Overall it is a wonderful kayak. This is my 8th one. Between the price and being so heavy those are the major drawbacks.

LOVE!
This is my first sit-on, and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Like another review stated, it doesn’t mention using the back seat for a 2nd person. But not only did my 11 year old son chill on the back seat for leisure, I actually used the back seat to help a teenager that had capsized. 😂 (He was with our group and fell asleep, yes he had a PFD). I love the molded handle and stability. It is heavier than my sit-in, but that’s a non-issue for me. So many drink holders and great space behind the seat. THE SEAT! It is the most comfortable seat! Would definitely recommend.

Wide and stable
I bought this kayak and love it. It is wise and feels stable when your in the water. The seat is comfortable and I love the lounge area in the back. You will need to buy 8 plugs for it unless you don’t mind water or possible snakes coming up through the small hole areas.Enjoy

Big enough for me & 2 dogs.
I like that both of my Beglin Malinois mix dogs can sit in this kayak with me. The biggest dog 60lbs sat in the lounger seat at the back, my smaller dog 50lbs sat in front of me at the feet. That was the reason I bought this kayak. It has great balance. I don't think it's worth almost 1000.00 the water bottles don't stay in place because the cup holders aren't deep enough to keep them in place. I am going put velco on the cup holders and bottles, hopefully it will work. I love the looks of this kayak, and I personized it as soon as it was delivered. I do wish that it has a paddle holder on both sides so when you take you paddle apart it can be stored & travel with the kayak at all times. I don't understand what the lever is for on the seat. The seat isn't very comfortable. I also like that this kayak isn't much longer than my old sit in, so when we hook up the camper it won't hit it.

FUN!
Love that I can have a passenger or use the backseat myself for relaxing. My daughter and I went to a restaurant with kayak access and it was busy but we had our own seats while waiting. It is a bit cumbersome and definitely made for the creek, not very maneuverable if there are currents. It has multiple cupholders although most are too shallow to hold anything. It also is big enough for my large dog. I am really enjoying it.
