So Easy to Fill
The various watering globes I’ve used are a real challenge to fill. Now I can pop out the cork and fill these from the top. No need to take them out of the soil. Very easy. Very neat.

Definitely worked for me.
We bought 4 of them and tried them out. Our goal was keeping the plants moist for a week. When we go on vacation, someone comes to the house at least once a week, so we figured if this device would keep the plants wet a week before running dry and drying out, then we'd be good. Bottom line is that they have lasted between 7-10 days. Yes, as in all of these glass bulb type watering units (we've had a big round bulb one in a large plant for years), the can break and they can just dump all their water out. One way to do it is to put a stick or pencil in the plant dirt to make a long hole, then shove the bulbs end into that. Try not to push it too deep or it will pack too much dirt into it. Push the dirt so it's tight against the bulb so it doesn't tip over. The little stoppers will fit tightly but being blown glass the hole is not always perfectly round, so practice putting the stopper in before you put it into the soil. BE CAREFUL because you don't want to break it. We've been measuring the soil wetness with a meter all week and it stays moist all the time.

Work great but need instructions
These plant waterers work great, but really need some more instructions in the box. I just realized there is supposed to be a rubber stopper at the top from coming back to write this review. Now I need to go look in the box and see where it is, because it was not in the top of the globe when I took it out of the box.Very pretty and very easy to use once you know what you're doing.

How it works
It was easy enough to use. However, the water emptied quite quickly. I thought it would come out slowly over the course of a few days.

No mess, easy to use. Love it!
The media could not be loaded. when I return home after two weeks of vacation, my plants are still thriving! Love it! No mess, easy to fill water using the syringe you see in my video. I bought 8 sets more for all my plants.

Small but cute and effective
The design makes a lot of sense. The open end on the topic makes refill very convenient. Looks great and go with the pots very well. The only thing I wish is for it to be bigger, so it can last for a few days while I am away. As other reviews mentioned, try to block the outlet somewhat to control the flow, otherwise water will go out too fast.

Keeps my thirsty plants watered
I live in the desert and during the summer months some of my indoor plants are extra thirsty. I like having these watering globes for my indoor plants to keep them hydrated when they get extra thirsty. Plus the iridescent glass is really pretty and a fun little pop in the plants

Close but no cigar
I am the sole provider for my houseplants (I live with someone who would rather have a dog), and every now and then, I need a break from parenting. I keep the flock thin, partly because I’m a terrible gardener, and partly because I’m trying not to be by keeping my eye on a few houseplants necessary to both a nicer home and because my ego needs some stroking. But every now and then, I still have to take a vacation. I’ve scheduled a two-week vacation for November and being a responsible plant-parent I’m trying to prepare Little Basil and his friend Little Cilantro for this. For last year’s vacation, I got a set of glass mushroom “self-watering” devices that really completely flunked. First, the hole for the water was tiny; filling it was a nightmare of turning the sink to a trickle and trying to catch it in the right space which was a waste of water, time and ate away at my fragile plant-fearing ego. Additionally, to put the spike into the soil was an invitation to overwater the plant in a couple seconds or worse, to get a tiny clod of dirt stuck in the glass tube so that no water came out (I KNOW THIS IS TRUE).So here’s the improvement (which needs improvement): there’s a stopper on the top of these which allows the user to fill the mushroom (per instructions) about 80% and replug it before placing in the soil – this is completely necessary to avoid having a water-sucking vacuum that will deliver all the water instantly and messily; however, while putting in the stopper, it went right down the hole (pictured) and since it's made of a soft (rubberized perhaps) plastic, it's never coming out of there; I know, I spent an hour trying to spear the little plug, but all I got was a speared thumb from spearing myself with a seam ripper while trying to pull it out; it's like the Titanic now, just floating in the deep as a monument to hubris, so glass self-watering mushroom people: a stopper that won't disappear on the first day, please – actually wider than the hole, thanks. My advice which worked with the ones that didin’t fall into the hole, is to put the glass spike in and fill from the top because…the water will start dripping as soon as you put it in the soil. Now here’s another improvement from last year’s model: instructions which say to wrap cloth around the tip. Because if you don’t see it, the water will be completely discharged quickly, causing a really annoying mess. (I KNOW THIS IS TRUE). It would be nice to have a little cloth included here, since I butchered an old kitchen towel to try to staunch the flow and previously wrapped in cheesecloth, which did nothing.Having said this, the set comes with four glass mushrooms. My most important complaint, though, is that despite saying so, I don't believe there's any way this is going to last for two weeks (which is really why I got them). I’m working on this, since my trip isn’t until November at which point I will either have functional “self-watering” mushrooms, or additional sets of glass mushroom ornaments for my non-existant Christmas tree. Jury’s out, but it’s definitely not looking good for the shrooms.
