Stove and Grate Polish Black – Restores Shine, Protects Cast Iron Surfaces, Easy Application, Heat-Resistant Finish, Ideal for Wood Stoves and Fireplaces -170ml

This polish is excellent! I took the time and spent 2 1/2 hours using a toothbrush to apply and get into all the nooks and crannies then buff off with a microfibre cloth. Amazing results, my log burner looks like new!! Just lit it tonight and have zero smoke coming from it! I only used a quarter of the tube so amazing value for money!!! I’ve attached before and after pics and a video.

The polish transformed my black hearth tiles which were badly stained and unsightly. They now look like new tiles. Easy to apply and shine up.

Does an effective job on returning the colour to a tired fire basket and polishes to a nice satin shine. I do find that there is quite a residue left on the metal though. I guess, don't handle the polished item too much afterwards.

Really happy with this product. I was originally looking for stove paint, but as most comes in a spray can, and my stove has a back boiler which is plumbed in, I wasn't happy to use a black spray paint in my living room. All the tinned paints I looked at routinely had "peeled off" or "turned white" reviews so I decided to go along the polish route instead. This polish was used on a multi fuel stove (wood & smokeless) that was already fitted when I moved in to my current home. The stove hadn't been looked after by the previous tenant and had loads of missing paint, and some surface rust. I chose this polish as it said it could cover rust. This polish went on really well, and even with the bad condition of my stove, covers really well. All missing paint, and surface rust was covered with very little on the cloth. I think my stove will probably need a few coats to bring it back to what it should be, but this isn't a fault of the polish, just that it the stove was in such a bad state. See images for a before, during and after. After first application with a cloth, I buffed the stove as per instructions, and the stove looked very respectable. First fire and there was no smell at all. A few months on after many daily fires (both wood and smokeless fuel): 1. Doesn't smell 2. Hasn't peeled or flaked 3. Hasn't turned white 4. Still looks black More than happy to continue using this product, and will probably replenish the stove surface at the end of every season of stove use. Recommended product and will purchase again in future.

A good product but it has a strong odour when you fire the stove is fired up for the first time.

Applies easily and initially looks great but rubs off when wiped

Super product. It transformed an old rusty cast iron fireback. See the before and after photos. I bought it because of all the positive reviews. I bought an old cast iron fireback, to go in the fire. It was completely rusted over but had a lovely raised design of a rider on a horse. I used the Hotspot product - 1. I put one coat all over using a toothbrush to get into every crevice, wiped it down, left a few days to cure , then 2. Gave it a second coat of Hotspot, with a toothbrush and wiped it down again. It completely transformed the fireback into something really wonderful! I will try lighting a small fire this evening, to warm up the fireback and to let it cure some more, then will try a proper fire. It is a great product that I would recommend.
