This kit has everything you need to setup a dog run. The steel cable is a good quality and it was easy to set everything up. Sure, you could maybe save a couple bucks by getting the parts individually from the hardware store. That said, there's something to be said for convenience. This kit will have you up and running in no time. And, once it's up, the maintenance should be almost zero.Works as expected and can be set up very quickly. What else could you ask for? That's money well spent. We tested it with both my little dogs as well as my buddies golden retriever. It handles big dogs tooRecommend and would order again.

I was able to install this between two trees in my backyard. I did string it through a hose for around the tree to prevent damaging the tree. The cable is durable and should last a while. The sliding is smooth. My 60 pound dog is locked securely and has just the right amount of freedom to go potty and run around and get some exercise.

Charlie is a bit of a puller, but this runner doesn't budge. It's solid, it's safe, and it's easy to set up. A solid investment for any pet owner.

I ran one side around a tree and another in a stake anchored in the ground since I didn't have another tree to use. Hooked up easily, though I needed my husband to tighten the line and clamps since I can barely open jars with my minuscule strength. The piece runs smoothly over the cable without catching or anything like that. It worked well!
