I use this with my iPad to produce some corporate training videos and it worked perfectly.

I do educational videos and I have found this teleprompter to be a wonderful new tool for me. I was using note cards and I found that videos were taking multiple takes and a lot of editing. I still need to edit now that I have a teleprompter, but not nearly as much as previously. However, if (like me) you have never used a teleprompter, there will be a learning curve in setting up your camera. You may need to adjust lighting (your camera may need to be bumped up a half stop). Also, finding the right lens and height for your camera may take some time as the teleprompter forces you and the camera to both be in “happy” places in order to function with the teleprompter (i.e. you need to be able to read the teleprompter and the camera needs to be able to frame you). I found this teleprompter to be superbly made (as is typical with Neewer products). The camera plate, mount, light extensions, and tablet/phone placement areas are made of precision metal and finished with a good grade coating. The glass is very easy to read and reflective, yet the glass has good clarity for your camera. The fabric hood for your camera is a good quality of material and has two drawstring closures. When tightening this around your lens, just make sure all the fabric is out of the way or it may end up in your frame. The entire unit folds into a nice hard shell carrying case with two metal clips and a handle. The case corners are metal reinforced and the case has additional padding inside to keep the teleprompter safe. The case is a nice, small size and doesn’t take up much space. It is not at all heavy. There is an app to download to use with the teleprompter and a remote comes with the unit to bluetooth to your phone or tablet. I used an 11” Android tablet. The app worked well, but I have one small “wish” and that is that there be a way to extend the margins on the app screen so your viewing area is narrower. This would reduce picking up eye movement that might come from reading a wider area and keep your eyes more centrally focused in the lens. Everything else on the app worked well and I like having the remote to control the speed of the words. I use .txt files for my transcript and they loaded perfectly. I would highly recommend this teleprompter if you do any sort of videos where you struggle to make certain all your points are covered. It is easy to read and saves you a ton of editing time. I am very happy with this teleprompter. Five stars.

This is a decent-quality teleprompter. It has drastically changed my streaming videos. Setting it up was quick, simple, and straightforward. The app is decent; however, I use a paid app from the app store. I love this thing and cannot stream without it—excellent value for the money.

Once you know how it works, it only take less than 5 minutes to take out from the box to mount it to tripod. Vice versa. This is the first time experience: It comes with a nice bag and already pre assembled. In addition to the device itself it also come with Remote control that require 2 AAA batteries (not included). I use a Manfrotto tripod with Fluid Head and 501PL QR plate and it just match perfectly with this gadget. It actually can work with any tripod and tripod head, but I suggest to use Fluid head if you have one and avoid using Ball Head if possible. 3 way Gear Head is better than Ball head. But again you can use whatever gadget you have. Need to download an app called Neewer Teleprompter from App store and installation it is pretty straight forward. The App make script preparation is so much easier with lots of flexible sourcing. Pair the provided bluetooth remote and ready to go. I tried on both iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPad Pro, and for my liking I prefer the wider screen of iPad. To install the camera is also very nice experience, because it has a Manfrotto 501PL QR plate with mounting rail that has plenty of room for prime lens or zoom lens adjustment and has also height adjustment to center the lens in the frame. I tried both using Sony A7IV with Sony 50mm F1.8 Zeiss and Sony ZV-E10 with Sony 18 - 105 mm F4 without any difficulties. The remote control is very handy to adjust the font size, start and stop the script and also to adjust the scrolling speed. I just find that when using iPad, the remote control scrolling speed adjustment is bit difficult to use / non responsive. On iPhone it is easier to use and more responsive. I don't know what is the problem. It actually not a big deal, because once you know the font size and scrolling speed, you need to control start and stop most of the time. It is a nice experience and doing a talking head with a well prepared script with teleprompter is a night and day experience. It make the result so professional looking at no time.

Well, NEEWER has done it again! They've come out with a teleprompter that blows the competition out of the water. In the box, you receive a very nice hard case that houses the teleprompter - which when you pull it out it's pretty much all ready to go; you first place it onto your tripod, attach your camera to it cover the lens with the hood, pull out the bracket to hold your tablet - place the tablet and you're 90% ready to rock-n-roll! Can't forget about the Teleprompter App with an included remote to help you control the teleprompter. Seriously, thing thing has it all! If you're looking for the best teleprompter that won't break the bank, then I strongly recommend picking up the NEEWER X14 II Teleprompter with App and Remote function!

Does the job well, easy to use app that allows editing of text documents once loaded. The remote functions smoothly and is easier to use for scroll speed changes rather than the slider on the app.

Good quality, and quick setup- in theory. However there is a big problem that needs a work around to fix if you are filming on a mirrorless camera, which I think most people are with this form factor. The base where you slide in the camera with the attached quick release plate only just brings the lens of the camera high enough to even get a clear image without the bottom frame of the glass being in shot. It seriously just scrapes in as in the boundary of the glass frame. IT just doesnt go high enough, and when you turn the heigh adjustment dial to the highest it slightly tilts the camera back. I now need to order a 3rd party solution to get the camera to an appropriate high, which for a teleprompter is the center line of the text appearing on screem, so the persons eyes aren't looking too low. I bought this for a job and didnt have time to send back, so I made do- I would return if this in time.

Ohne Prompter waren Talking-Head-Videos für mich die reinste Qual. Entweder spielt mir das Alter schon die ersten Streiche oder mein Gedächtnis war schon immer so schlecht, aber ich kann mir selbst das einfachste Skript unmöglich merken. Die Anzahl der Takes, die es braucht, um nur das einfachste Video sauber abzudrehen ist schon wirklich peinlich. Schon seit Monaten dachte ich daher ernsthaft an die Anschaffung eines Teleprompters und der Neewer war sehr weit oben auf meiner Shortlist. Ich konnte es gar nicht fassen, als genau dieser über Vine zum Test erhältlich war. Wie ein kleines Kind zu Weihnachten hab ich mich dann auch sofort über das Paket gestürzt (selbst für ein Unboxing Video hat die Geduld nicht gereicht). Der Aufbau war sowas von kinderleicht (erste und bisher einzige Enttäuschung: der so professionell aussehende Alukoffer, in dem der Prompter geliefert wird, ist nicht viel mehr als eine leicht verstärkte Pappschachtel und für den ernsthaften Transport völlig ungeeignet) und man muss einfach wirklich nur darauf achten, dass das wuchtige Teil auch auf stabilen Füssen steht, denn es bringt ein schon recht ansehnliches Gewicht auf die Waage. Ich hab den Prompter auf ein billiges, aber sehr stabiles Stativ gebaut – da bleibt er jetzt fix installiert und daher braucht es keine feinen Verstellmöglichkeiten oder den besten Kugelkopf…nur Stabilität ist gefragt und man sollte sicher sein, dass man das Stativ auch nie wieder für was anderes benötigt, denn für ständigen Auf- und Abbau ist der Prompter einfach zu unhandlich. Aber das stört ja auch nicht wirklich – in den meisten Fällen wird er in einem Studiosetting bleiben und geduldig darauf warten, dass ihm eine Kamera in den Rücken geschoben wird. Apropos: die dreidimensional anpassbare Halterung (Quickrelease, was sonst) macht auch das Finetuning der Kameraposition kinderleicht. Dann nur noch das Skript auf die Neewer App geladen, das Tablet in die Halterung gespannt (Smartphone geht theoretisch auch, aber da komm ich mit der Schriftgröße nicht klar – hab ich erwähnt, dass ich langsam zu alt für solche Spielereien werde?) und…let’s roll!

Jeder, der regelmäßig Videos aufnimmt, kennt das Problem: wie spricht man flüssig, vergisst nichts und denkt an alle Stichpunkte. Dieser Teleprompter hilft bei diesen Aufgaben zuverlässig. Ich betreibe das Gerät mit einem iPad und einer entsprechenden Software, die mir dann das Skript, oder technische Daten und Stichpunkte gut sichtbar einblendet. Der Aufbau des Geräts ist relativ einfach und ergibt ein stabiles Konstrukt mit einem durchsichtigen Bildschirm, der den Bildschirm des iPads gespiegelt anzeigt. Also nach kurzer Einrichtung kann man damit direkt arbeiten und wird Textsicherer. Dadurch, dass die Kamera durch die halb transparente Scheibe hindurch aufnimmt, verliert man auch den Blick zum Zuschauer nicht und das Video wirkt natürlicher . Es erfordert trotzdem etwas Übung, damit die Augen nicht hin und her gehen, in den Zeilen und es aussieht als ob man abliest. Auf jeden Fall ist es eine sehr gute Unterstützung und Hilfe bei Technik Reviews, oder Videos mit verschiedenen Zahlen und Daten, die man sich so besser vor Augen führen und im Video beim erzählen korrekt einbinden kann. Der Teleprompter kann einfach auf ein Stativ montiert werden und entsprechend positioniert, seine Arbeit verrichten.
