Antique Ornate Copper Locket Coupled with Antique Hand Carved Carnelian Shell Cameo of "Eos" with Wings on Scrolling Filigree Copper Heart Locket with Rhinestone. EOS, in Greek Mythology is "especially know as the lover and seizer of hansome youths and as the goddess of dawn" per 4th Edition on "CAMEOS" I purchased this 11/16" x 1/2" antique cameo without a setting of EOS with wing. She is side profile cut. Very colorful and beautiful. White to orange with orange highlights on her hair and wing, as top layer uncut of shell was orange. This is a very earl heart shaped locket with rhinestone as in Habille. Apparently antique locket makers idea is you make your own picture holders inside. As still in original condition, no hinge, no lock, and no picture holder. The final picture is of inside. It is on concave in not out as it looks , because of it's shiny unused condition. The outside & back does have patina and age spots missing copper as seen in larger than life pictures. These close-up pictures are more than twice the actual size. Details can be seen that can't be seen with human eye. The scrolling curves of filigree and glittering rhinestone of heart locket combined with Eos orange & white antique expertly carved cameo are an awesome combination. All I did was permanently glue them together
