EDC2-DFT High-Candela Everyday Carry LED Flashlight, 700 Lumens, Black

The overall build quality was impressive right out of the box. I have over 10 tactical flashlights, some being Fenix, Streamlight, Nextorch, and Nitecore. Fenix has been my EDC for a while now, that is until the Surefire arrived today. Each light I own has its own specific use, some being geared more towards throw (search) for long distance applications, while others simply have high lumens and good spill. It's very rare that I am impressed with both the reach/throw and the overall brightness (lumens) of a tactical flashlight. I was absolutely blown away by the reach shown in the video as the stop sign shown being lit up is over 500 meters away. This Surefire is absolutely blinding, if you need a light to penetrate through smoke, tinted windows, or just long distance with good spill I highly recommend this light. Out of the box the battery took 5+ hours to fully charge, however regular charging cycles for EDC use shouldn't be this long as the battery usually ships to you close to depleted. The pocket clip is two way, making it possible to attach it to your baseball cap or other exterior parts. The light sits comfortably in the pocket of a pair of jeans, although it will not ride fully to the left or right of the pocket, due to it's height it sits a little more to the center. (No problem if you don't carry a lot in that pocket) The user interface is extremely easy to understand, one click for high, two half clicks for low. And let me tell you how impressed I was with the low setting as well, for the extended battery life you get I was very surprised at how bright the low setting still appeared to be, and by it's throw. Solid 10/10 torch, lightweight, good runtime performance, great quality. If you're a firefighter, LEO, or just a prepared citizen like myself, do yourself a solid and pick up this light!

同社のEDCL2-Tとの比較です。 サイズ、重さ、共にほぼ同じで、 ほんのわずかにEDC2-DFTの方が大きい程度で、普段からEDCL2を持ち歩いているならば、 置き換えをしても違和感を感じる事は無いと思います。 中央の照度が高く、周辺光は狭い。 中心光はEDCL2-Tの約１０倍の明るさながら、ルーメン数は低いため、 EDC2-DFTの方がハイの時のランタイムが長いです。 ローの場合、EDCL2-Tが５ルーメンなのに対して、EDC2－DFTは２５ルーメンなので、 逆にランタイムが短くなっています。 また、発熱はEDC2-DFTの方が少なく、体感でEDCL2-Tの半分程度の発熱になっているため、 EDCL2-Tよりも長い時間安全に連続点灯できそうです。 スイッチは、半押しで間欠点灯、深く押し込むとスイッチが入りっぱなしになり点灯しつづけます。 ハイ・ローの切り替えは、素早くスイッチを2度押しする事で切り替わるタイプで、 最初にハイ、もう一度押すとローの順番で切り替わります。 この切り替わるまでのタイムが長く大体1，2秒以内に押すとローになるため、 タクティカルな用途では使えません。 また、暗がりで探し物をする時も、ハイの非常に明るい光が一瞬照射されるため、 目の暗順応を妨げてしまいがちです。 光の強度、周辺光の狭さなど、プロ向きの仕様ながら、スイッチだけが民間向けとなっている とてもアンバランスなライトと感じました。 この点ではEDCL2-Tの押す深さでハイ・ローが切り替わる仕様の方が使い勝手がいいです。 また、EDCL2-TとEDC2-DFTは、形状も名前も似ていますが、パーツに互換性は無く、 付け替え等は出来ません。 EDC2-DFTの利点としては、光がプロっぽいのに、”EDC”という特別なガジェット感です。 中心光の明るさは、他のタクティカルライトと比べても頭一つ抜けている印象です。 （その分室内で使うと反射光が強く、自分自身を照らしてしまいかねませんが） 誰もいない山道などで、遠くまで照射できる光で遊ぶと楽しいです。 他にもスイッチを完全に押し込むと常時点灯になるので、 他の作業に集中したい時、夜道を歩く時に道を照らす時等、付けっぱなしにしやすい点でしょうか。 ※EDCL2-Tは、テール部分をネジると常時点灯します。 ただ、これも周辺光が狭いため、 ２００メートルまでは照らせて、周辺光が広いEDCL2-Tの方が使いやすいと思います。

I bought this because I take early morning walks before the sun is up. So I need a bright light because of the occasional car on the dark country roads I walk on and just to see period when the moon isn't out. This more than does the trick and so far the run time and ease of use has been great. I finally figured out that you HAVE to remove the battery to charge it via the small port on one end...which was confusing at first since the instructions are vague and you are tempted tot think there is a charge port on the body itself...which if there is it is hidden very well. I hope this light holds up and time will tell but it is very bright and impressive to use...it could save your life if it makes you visible to trafic at night so considering that it isn't too expensive at least for me. I like it!

Useded weekly during night time inspections for 5 min at a time. I do not carry this in a pocket ad after 3 minutes the bezel/head gets HOT and does not feel great burning my leg. Truly zero complaints, as it's supper fun to have a tiny spotlight.

This is the best flashlight currently in production. High candela, great run time, a low mode for admin tasks, made in USA plus SF durability. Don’t hesitate because of the price.
