Amazon Basics 15 Sheet Cross Cut Paper, Credit Card, and CD Shredder, Black

Great value. Easy to move around and very quiet. Best shredder I’ve owned. Never overheated for me and i have used for continuous thirty minutes. Not too heavy either so I can pick up and move around. Easy to empty. Brilliant.

This machine is paper-shredding heaven for me. Three small shredders have already died on me, followed by a much better quality one which lasted a few years which recently went up in smoke - scary. The space in the basement storeroom needs to be cleared - so there are boxes, sacks, and years and years of paper stuff to shred. I checked out the shredder reviews and which machine did what, how many sheets of paper in a pass, for how long, and resting time - And finally I decided on this AmazonBasics15-Sheet Cross-Cut as ticking the boxes I needed ticked, at a price I would consider. Well, this model arrived a week ago and is turning out to be a fabulous work horse, steadily and reliably chomping through piles high of old records, an unbelievable amount of paper. I have boxes more to bring up from downstairs and feel confident that this machine will carry on doing the job. The chomping section feels sturdy, the bin isn't the entirely best designed and a bit on the flimsy side - but it holds a pretty whopping amount and once I'd worked out the best way of emptying it into a big see-through plastic sack, it became all very simple. I'd be surprised if it turned out there was a problem with it. Oh, the machine chomped happily through old bank cards, old office card folders, wadges of reports, all the kind of thing I need it for. And lastly, given that it's been having to work hard, it is the quietest of all the machines I've ever had.

Works well. Surprisingly quiet in operation. Not had any issues with it stopping to cool down after a few minutes. The collection bin is huge compared to our old shredder. Only irritation is the sensor which switches on the cutter. It's fine for A4, but when shredding receipts you have to fish around to trigger the sensor as it seems set quite deeply in the machine - maybe a safety feature? Overall a good practical product imo.

Great shredder for home, or possibly small office. It is quiet, truly does accept 15 pages at a go, and after shredding 4 large garbage bags worth of papers over more than an hour, it never slowed, jammed, or overheated. Being wheeled is helpful, as is the large removable bucket. Easy to set-up and use. Would recommend. (Note It replaced a cheap, basic 15yr old 5 page shredder, which could only really handle 1-2 pages at time and constantly slowed, overheated and jammed, so that was my benchmark and the improvement is fantastic).

Impressed.I have used it to cut all sorts of cardboard boxes - double and single. Even a TV carton. I won't say it dealt with heavy duty cardboard boxes effortlessly...it did require some effort - sometimes putting it in at an angle...Good God, I hope I am still talking about cardboard boxes. To self: It has not been that long, has it? I digress.The shredder has been doing a good job. It has tackled everything I have thrown at it. Noise level is ok. Nothing abnormal. It has indicators to tell you if it has overheated( it has not in my case), when it is overloaded( I got a couple of those when some sticky vinyl that had got stuck onto the thick box I was shredding got in the mix), when the door to the bin is opened and when the bin is full. I find it easy to use and frankly it has met my needs so far.Good one Amazon.

After a few failed shredder purchases with a different brand,I went for this one.Looks good, holds alot, works perfectly without clogging.Cross cut is so much better., quiet when in use and lightweight to move, the wheels are really handy.100% recommend this shredder.

I had several years worth of sensitive documents to shred and didn't like the idea of doing them one sheet at a time on my existing shredder. This works a treat, happily taking 10 sheets at a time and would operate for well over 20 minutes at a time without overheating and the bin is a decent capacityThe cross cut shredding means gives me higher security disposing of the processed documents. I am also impressed by its ability to shred credit cards. A great addition to my office

Very easy to unpack but keep packing until you have tried & tested the product fully.Reading through the user manual it recommends that you purchase some oiling & sharpening sheets, which are also available in the Amazon basics range, these do not cost much, come with a full user guide & are well worth getting to keep the unit in tip top condition,Product is very well built & deals with cds, credit cards ect & dose not even sweat, plus it is quite when shredding, very pleased with my unit so far.
