The 551 can switch between red and green dots. Usually red is used more at night because it is less intrusive to your night vision; green is usually used during the day because it tends to be clearer during the day. It does come down to personal preference and personal performance, but green day and red night is how I use it. o(∩_∩)O~~

TO Isaac Eaden: The 551 uses a closed reflection principle and is only $45 plus a 13% overlay discount. To have no color at all, the lens and emitter could add $20 to the cost, which is not in line with our pricing strategy.
