Fantastic little microscope.
This is an easy 5-stars for me. The price is amazing and it works extremely well. Ok, it's my first microscope so maybe I'm easily pleased, but it captures very good images at high magnification. Best of all for me is the fact that you just hook it up to your PC (it's plug and play, so just plug it in to a USB port and then turn on the 'Camera' app that comes with Windows) and you see the images on the screen instead of having to look into the microscope itself. This is really handy, it allows you to press the camera against your skin, hair, clothing etc and just look at the screen. The cable is long enough for it to reach from my PC, which is on a desk, down to the carpet. Then you can just hit 'Print Screen' and save your images in a paint package. I've had loads of fun with it and for £30, you just can't go wrong. The only issue I had, being a microscope noob, is that I couldn't work out how to focus it properly. A little bit of reading later and I realised that this an issue with all microscopes and it's due to focal length etc. It's not really a problem though, press it up against your subject and alter the zoom until it comes into focus. I find that for most subjects, I get clarity at two different zooms, one giving a good overall close-up and then it goes fuzzy until it comes into view again for a much more zoomed in close-up.

Very capable and easy to use microscope
The microscope worked perfectly out of the box on my Android phone, laptop and desktop. You can just plug it in and use it like a USB webcam or you can download their recommended software which worked perfectly and easily. It has two main zoom modes, the lower magnification one has quite an impressive range and let's you place the microscope a reasonable distance away at the cost of magnification. It also has a higher magnification mode that works only when the thing you are trying to look at is right at the end of the microscope. The scroll wheel on the cord for the LED brightness is very useful as you don't need to touch the microscope to change the brightness which means you don't accidently move it.I have used mine for just generally looking at things, smd LEDs, E-paper displays etc. It is powerful enough to look at the pixels on your phone or monitor. I have also used it for smd soldering where it's long range came in very helpful as I could keep the microscope at a distance whilst using a hot air reflow gun whilst still having the benefit of the magnification of the microscope showing on a large screen. After soldering I could use the higher magnification mode to inspect the individual solder joints. The microscope coped comfortably with applying solder paste and components of 0402 size and qfn44 and I am confident enough in its ability to try smaller and more dense packages.Overall brilliant scope, very easy to use and works very well.

Good value, bad stand
Not amazing, not terrible. You get what you pay for. Taking the extremely cheap price into account, it certainly does the job. Can be a bit finicky positioning it to get a clear picture. A more sturdy and better designed stand would earn this 5 stars.

A must have for vinyl enthusiasts
I wasn't expecting too much at this price bracket, but this digital microscope was able to produce some pretty clear pictures. The digital zoom function only works while connected to your phone or tablet, however the USB connects directly to your computer without the need for any app or driver.I'm on a mac here so opening Photobooth you can select the camera from there. By downloading Wifi Check app from the app store you simply swop your wifi connection on your iphone to the camera, then the digital zoom function works. The microscope led lights can be adjusted by a dimmer wheel. The focusing wheel is smooth and easy to adjust. While the stand is basic it does the job, and not as flimsy as it looks in the photos.I primarily bought this to examine stylus wear and dirt removal from the turntable, and with some adjustment to get the stylus up close into the perspex dome of the microscope, I was able to get some real close up shots, while the digital zoom function is just an upscale, it is able to enlarge the image significantly but with some loss of image quality.Overall a good buy and pleasantly surprised, a great little microscope.

Great Microscope just doesn't work well for my needs
This wee microscope is quite powerful for the price of it and when using it to look at small pcb board i am amazed at all the small components in might i say quite good quality. For viewing pcbs or anything really its truly amazing. So why the 3 stars? I tried using it to solder a component onto a pcb board and everything the fumes rose up into the microscope it would shut off and come back on again. Not ideal for micro soldering being blind every two seconds! It doesnt do this when Im using it to view things but if i try work with it, it just doesn't work for me. Also one thing to note is that the drivers the microscope comes with are incompatible with windows and you'll have to turn off memory integrity if yoy want to even use the microscope. So final thoughts is that this would be a great gift for a little inspiring scientist or for education purposes but for micro soldering it just doesn't work well.
