HM Digital RCM-1000BT Coffee Refractometer (Brix / TDS / Temp) with Bluetooth

I was skeptical when deciding to purchase the HM refractometer due to there being no reviews for it and very little additional info. However, I did purchase the device after finding a recent review for it on a blog I found. Prior to making this purchase I did try another brand and found it to have wild swings in readings. To be fair some of that was certainly my fault as I was not using syringe filters to remove the tiny particulate prior to testing. However, in comparing the HM to that device, even without filtering, the HM was providing tighter repeat readings.Now, what is so good about this refractometer? A lot honestly. It feels extremely well made in the hand and is a good size for an instrument of this type. I would describe the size between fitting in your pocket and being only a desktop tool. It's a very usable size. As far as readings, it is accurate, precise and repeatable. To top it off it has a companion app for your phone that will sync via bluetooth. What is really cool is once you have it synced you are able to control the measurements through the app. As a note the app for android was very hard for me to find as it was, for some reason, not listed in the android store at the time. I had to search a third party APK provider to access and download the app. Once I did it worked flawlessly.What else to say:It is well built.Easy to use.Bluetooth/app.Repeatable, accurate and precise.The price is a good middle ground.Important reminder: Absolutely make sure you buy syringe filters to use in conjunction with this device. You can find them on Amazon in boxes of 100 for about $00.50/each. There are a lot of them but go with the blue Nylon 22 or 45nm filters.
