Read the dimensions I thought it was much smaller!It looks so well made I’m going to keep it I will find use sooner or later!

Hubby wishes it could go deeper into the mix. Otherwise it did a good job making beer.

I hated getting blockages in my pumps and the increased amount of time it took to clean up after a brewday because of the hops residue in my kettle. I also found a way to put my Sous Vide probe inside this basket and that allows me to use it for mashing in my grains...it keeps the Sous Vide's internal pump from ingesting bits of grain...double win! Now I can maintain a spot on temp for mashing and keep the hops residue out of my kettle during the boil...this strainer does it all. If you brew smaller batches, you might want to find one that is adjustable for height...I don't, this one is perfect, durable, not too fine so as to impair hops oils or wort pass through. This might not be big enough for you IPA guys out there - it can be a full load with 4-6 oz of hops after it expands.

It is too short for a 10 gal pot doing a 5 gal brew. I had to hang it on a string to get it deep enough into the boil. But it works well, it held 4 oz of hops without any problem. With a spray nozzle on my water tap, it was easy to clean.

This is an essential part of every brew day for me. I used to waste so much time and wort trying to whirlpool the hops to the middle. Now I have only 10% of the hop material that I used to get. I feel 300 micron keeps more hop material out of the wort than 400 micron. Haven’t had any issues with hop utilization either. Once or twice during the boil I will come by and lift it out of the kettle and allow the wort to drain. This ensures the hops are getting used properly. It does drain slowly though because it’s 300 micron. Also it’s rather messy to clean, at least for me. I use a garden hose to spray the outside of the screen, then soap and water. Altogether this kid the best value you can find for a hop spider. I would buy it again.

Very well built. Used several times and still looks new. Make sure you keep it off the bottom of your kettle though! I made the mistake of detaching this from the edge of my 20G kettle during the boil because I felt the hops were not circulating in the wort. Bad idea. It was sitting on the bottom of the kettle for probably 15 minutes, but when I emptied it there was a neatly scorched circle on the bottom. Following fermentation the beer had a burnt popcorn flavor and was ruined. 100% user error though, no fault of the strainer. I feel like the mesh might almost be too fine to allow good circulation during the boil though so I haven’t used it in a while.

This looks like a well built hop spider and I can get rid of using bags. Never was able to master the whirlpool and this makes cleanup tons easier. Sure, you use a little efficiency, but I can live with it.

Struggling to find a reasonably priced strainer of the same micron to filter waste oil and hold filter socks, I purchased this unit. The quality of construction for the price is excellent and a quarter of the price of similar purpose constructed strainers.

Las medidas vienen tal cual se indican en la información del producto. Me llegó en tiempo y forma. El producto se ve muy bien. Lo usé para filtrar miel y funciona muy bien. Le doy 4 estrellas porque siento un poco magnetico el acero inoxidable creo seria mejor que utilizarán 304L.
