They are well made and strong. For the perfectionists, note that there is a small line across the center of each cube as a result of the way the plastic sheath is made though it does not impair the functionality of the cubes. Now - these are strong and I mean strong in a manner that is hard to understand. I put two on a table a yard apart and they started to slowly inch towards each other and I had to quickly grab the closest one and pull it further away. When they are close, the force they exert is simply stunning and when they are less than inch apart, it is practically uncontrollable.I am a slim man with a 32-33 inch waist and I made the mistake of putting one in each pocket as I walked towards where I was going to use them. In a matter of seconds they managed to come together across the front of my body with a great deal of force. I have no idea how they did not trap and injure my private parts but if they had, it would have been quite a serious injury so take it as a very, very serious warning. They did not rip through the pockets in order to come together that way.On the practical side, I use them to catch the filings when cutting or filing metal and they excel at this. Being plastic coated, it is easier to remove the filings (wear gloves, the filings stick hard and upwards like small needles) and they clean up a lot easier than uncoated magnets.

Very powerful and efficient magnet. It’s fairly strong although I’m able to rip them apart with my own hands (not easy). I am satisfied with the strength and quality of the magnet overall.

No joke, these are powerful magnets. Don’t play with them. It will bruise you and they are difficult to separate without tools or the edge of a solid surface. Exactly what I was looking for but it cost me quite a few bruises to learn to not play around with them. Perfect for your super powerful, small, Permanent magnet needs. Not a toy. Not for kids.

So I got these for my slingshot ammunition....I use 1/2 inch stainless steel bearings and to keep them from rattling inside my pouch, I needed a neodymium magnet (inherently brittle) that wouldn't break or shatter. These things have a tough plastic shell, which means, even if the magnet did break within the shell for any reason....no worries, it's not going anywhere. The pictures I've included show the magnet easily holding (120) 1/2 inch bearings....I included some coins as size reference. I haven't tried letting the 2 magnets come together, but if I felt the need, I'm sure that the 2 together would probably hold 250 bearings (which would make a pretty heavy pouch). The problem would be ever getting the 2 magnets apart....lol. The magnet doesn't like letting go of the physically adjacent bearings....I couldn't imagine how difficult the 2 magnets would be to separate. These things are fantastic, although pricey. Just don't be stupid with them.....they don't play around.

I love these magnets. They are highly strong magnets despite the coating which does a great job at preventing the magnets from chipping. Surprisingly strong and most likely too much for youngsters to handle, but not for dad! I would buy again.

After watching youtube my son was inside on wanting strong magnets to experience with. After researching I chose these based on plastic coating to keep from breaking. They are fun and he uses them for lots of things. The plastic coating is durable to keep from shattering when they accidently slam together and does not negatively affect the pull in any way. Side note: Be careful. They can and will pinch fingers!

I have a couple other 1 inch sets that just have the thin golden coating. The power of these magnets is just too strong for that. They inevitably will clack together and chip or split. I'm a big fan of these plastic coated ones. They are a little bit weaker, since there is more space between the surface of the magnet because of the thicker plastic coating, but I think that is well worth it, since a small mistake doesn't result in a shattered magnet.

These magnets are awesome and shockingly strong. I love that they have a plastic coating, making them both inert and shatterproof as they can be challenging to handle. Definitely worth the price! I'm using these in an aquarium to hold up a plant platform and they're prefect.
