A hard to find thickness heel top lift
I've got an old pair of Allen Edmonds loafers that needed a replacement heel top lift. There are no longer any shoe cobblers or repair shops near me and I didn't want to ship them off for repair. Almost all other top lifts I found were 1/4" thick which is much too thick for putting on these shoes. So I got a set of these, removed the worn top lifts, cleaned and roughed up the surfaces of the heel block and the new top lifts, applied 2 coats of contact cement (let dry between coats) and hammered these on. Trimmed the excess with a razor knife (with fresh blade) and sanded any rough edges down smooth. Retouched the heel block color wherever the sandpaper touched the dye and so far, so good. Withholding one star until I've had a chance to put a few miles on the shoes to see how these heel top lifts hold up.11/22: Added the fifth star. Top lifts are holding up just fine!

FINALLY fixed my boots....
I had a thin heel on my boots, and I literally wore them down to a point where I was frustrated I couldn't wear them. I had to do a process on the boots, but these worked. You have to make sure you get a good boot glue. I glued mine on, and carefully cut them down to fit perfectly. To make it nice, I used a sandpaper to file down areas where I didn't cut with perfection. These were for expensive boots I bought a few years ago that I love, and I am so glad to have them back in order. Don't expect this to be an EXACT fit. If they didn't have it in this size, you wouldn't be able to make it fit a variety of shoes or boots. I'll probably have to order them again in the future because I apparently drag my feet....no pun intended.

Not for women.
Not for a women's shoe even when you cut it down.

Worked to repair my chunky heeled boot
These worked to repair my boot heel which had fallen off. We glued it on using shoe glue. They didn't quite fit so he cut them down a little so some of the edge is a little ragged, but I don't think most people are looking at my boot heel with that much scrutiny. It's a hard rubber, not like plastic, but still able to be cut. Worked for me and I'm pleased.

Excellent Quality / no cutting required
I placed these rubber soles on a pair of handmade leather boots with a Blake Stitched leather sole. The original heel was haphazard in the snow and ice. This heel rubber adhered easily with Shoe Goo and 4 nails each. You could probably get by without the nails, however I planned on wearing these boots in the snow and ice mostly so the nails make a more durable bond between the rubber and heel. These fit exceptionally well.

Durable
I have favorite boots that I dance in every week. I was always wearing the heels down. I would replace them with rubber from other old shoes. But they didn't last. I put a dowel in the hollow of my heel and used gorilla glue with these. They cut fairly easy with a utility knife. These soles have lasted 3 months so far! They are hard rubber, but NOT like plastic.

soles came off day 1
They came off the first time I wore them! We had used the special shoe glue which I also bought, and my husband clamped them in a vice grip for 3 days. The one was off after 3 hours. This is indoors,in a school with regualr hard floors. I'm throwing out the boots and buying new ones, like i should have done in the first place instead of wasting $10 on all this garbage.

Did not work
We ended up throwing these away. After they were apply to my heels, it was impossible to trim off the excess due to the fitness.
