Long term costs saving, reliable speeds, coverage and easy set up!
After years of renting equipment from Xfinity, I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase my own modem-router combo — the Netgear CAX30. My main motivation was to eliminate those pesky rental fees, and it has certainly been worth it! Setting up the Netgear CAX30 was a breeze. One of the standout features for me is the ability to configure my own WiFi settings. This level of control has been a game-changer, allowing me to customize my network to suit my specific needs. Performance-wise, this device has exceeded my expectations. With my ISP's 1 gig plan, I consistently experience download speeds between 880 and 900 Mbps, which is more than double what I was getting with Xfinity’s equipment. The reliability and speed have significantly improved my daily internet activities, from streaming and gaming to work-related tasks. Overall, the Netgear CAX30 has been a fantastic investment. It's not just about saving money on rental fees but also enjoying improved internet performance and having the freedom to manage my network settings effectively. If you're considering cutting ties with rental equipment, I highly recommend the Netgear CAX30.

Best router ever
The NETGEAR Nighthawk is insanely fast, super reliable, and handles multiple devices like a champ without breaking a sweat. Streaming gaming Zoom calls smart home stuff all smooth.Setup was quick and painless and the signal reaches everywhere in my house even that one cursed dead zone I thought was unfixable. If you are tired of lag buffering or dropped connections just get this already. It is the WiFi glow up you did not know you needed

Great upgrade to existing Netgear router
My new NETGEAR Nighthawk CAX30 WiFi Cable Modem Router is running at top Xfinity speed, was easy to set up, easy to reconnect all my devices onto WiFi, and running solid so far... my previous Netgear modem router was at its limit speed wise, while this one has some room to expand in the future.I will say having the Netgear app on the iPhone was not as useful and simply having the MAC address to enter into the web interface on the new router from my MacBook... once Xfinity knew my MAC address it completed the connection all on its own...

Great Router, But Xfinity's Upload Speeds Disappoint
The Netgear Nighthawk CAX30 is a fantastic modem-router combo—solid speeds, reliable connectivity, and easy setup. However, if you're using Xfinity without their modem, be aware that they throttle the upload speed to 5Mbps, which severely limits performance for tasks like video calls, gaming, and cloud backups. This isn't a fault of the CAX30 itself; the hardware is more than capable. Just frustrating that Xfinity's restrictions hold back its full potential. If you're considering this device, make sure your ISP allows higher upload speeds!

Well Worth The Price - Excellent
I've been thinking of ditching my Cox Panoramic router ($16/mo) for some time and this weekend I just did it. I chose this modem/router because of reviews and ratings I read, both on Amazon and elsewhere. Some other brands had terrible ratings, most being cheaper, so I wanted to avoid those. It was more than I was going to spend, but you get what you pay for. The set up was easy, I just called Cox and the rep walked me through every step. She stayed on the line with me until I had both an ethernet and a wifi connection. Hat tip to them. This model covers 2,000 sq ft and our home is 1,900. My unit is approx. in the middle of the house. At first the Wi-Fi was much slower than with the Cox unit. I realized I had logged on to the 2.4 band rather than the 5.0 band. Once I logged on to 5.0 with all of our devices, the speed was very fast. I would highly recommend this. Very glad I got this one.

Excellent but no 5.0GHz which returned few minuts later
I researched several brands and models, and reached the conclusion that this modem has no like in the market at its configuration and price range.I had several weeks to try to make three different modems to work without success. After failing the first mode router, I spent weeks trying to make it connecting to the internet, but failed. After working with techs on both Netgear and the service provider, we reached nowhere, unfortunately I had to return the modem/router and asked for refund. With many sleepless nights I discovered that all the three modem router were perfectly functional although the tech of service provider said that they were not compatible - what I discovered was that the ISP were intentionally or otherwise had deactivated my devices one by one. Once the fact was uncovered, the internet is working and regret returning the second modem/ router - the reason defective equipment. Now I don’t know correct the techs fault, because I will be having 3 modem / router and have the to do so.Price-wise It’s a little overpriced but dedicated technical support compensates even more - reasonably priced especially when compared with the market.Signal strength is questionable; the 5.0MHz very weak/ non existent 12 yards away with line of sight, I will try to resolve with technical support ; Otherwise it’s a huge advantage. it will sink to useless. thanks

It really IS a beast!
I don't wish to rent my modem/router from my ISP, and my old ones were quite obsolete. I was really getting tired of crawling under the desk to reboot them. I got the list of approved modems from my ISP. I just have the standard speed service, but they told me I could get one of the faster modems if I wished. My old one didn't even match the speed I am paying for. I'm not very confident about computers, but I ordered this with some trepidation based on the good reviews. I needn't have worried. It was an easy physical set up, and I easily got it associated with my ISP using their app. Then it was another easy step to set up my local network name and password and obviously switch over all my devices. Why did I wait so long? Now I have the speed I'm paying for and rock solid reliability so far. I haven't had to crawl under the desk to reboot once! This is a great unit, and I'm very glad I bought it. It really is a beast as one reviewer said.
