Your First 840 Words in Japanese

I have been self studying Japanese for a number of years, what started as a hobby, has now become a must do since having a granddaughter born in Japan. I have loads of books and Apps, but this book with its use of physical flashcards, along with the app it suggests, has really made me focus. A lot of the words I do know, but I am also focusing on the Kanji, as I know that if I am going to get anywhere near good at Japanese I need to be able to read it. I don't think there is one solution to learning Japanese, you have to approach it from different angles, but this has really helped, so I hope they bring out more books like this in the future.

Recommend Spot on for someone who like learning japanese

This book is extremely useful, particularly when linked to the online application activities that enable learning to be undertaken whilst you’re on the move and can fit in short learning practices throughout the course of a busy day without having to bring along the textbook itself. I would recommend for anyone starting the long journey of understanding Japanese.

The language is so beautiful when seen written down and i have always wanted to master it. Although I fear that may not happen as its a little tricky I loved this book for giving me access to this superb language and history

If you're serious about learning Japanese this is the book for you, as a clear and concise route has been laid out for you. I love that theres different learning options, as everyone learns differently right. The Author is passionate about your journey which is very encouraging as its not an easy language to learn.! Would recommend.

This is the first book that really got me going with learning Japanese. Vocabulary words being in alphabetical order works very well with my brain. Its also great to have both the Kanji and the Kana to work with. The flashcards are very effective. Overall just an outstanding book for a beginner learner.

This book is very helpful in learning the words necessary to study for the N5 exam for the JLPT series. I'm currently using it, as advised by the author and I'm already comfortable with over 100 Japanese words, in both hiragana and katakana, Kanji is different :). I highly recommend this book.

Help me alot

I am so excited to have these books. At first, I ordered the "100 sentences" book, but realized, I still had some learning to do. I can't believe this book really has 840 words in it. It has has online resources to help you with your studies. In the beginning of the book, it also has the hiragana, katakana, etc characters for reference. Each page has ways to practice and various examples on what the words mean :) And, there's even tons of flash cards to cut out at the end of the book. This is perfect for someone who wants a physical way of learning, as opposed to using apps all the time. I recommend starting with this one, then the kanji book, and then the sentence book. It's got just about everything you could ask for, for a great price.
