I bought this for wok cooking. It cooks very hot. I have a round bottom wok ring that fits around the burner. It does peel the paint off around the burner (first time) but I accounted for that from the reviews. I have my propane setting fully open (red knob) & burner setting way down & still cooks really hot. Haven’t adjusted the propane setting yet, but have been very happy with the high heat. I’m sure both knobs can be adjusted to moderate the heat better, I just haven’t done it yet. I’ve wok cooked 4 times & boiled water once. A 5 qt pot was rapid boiling in a few minutes. Be careful if you have the propane knob (red one) fully open. I’ve left oil on one time for too long in the wok and caught fire and wouldn’t blow out with out reigniting (was my fault). Strongly recommend adjusting red knob and keeping an infrared cooking thermometer with you to measure temp. I have one and keep it handy as it can reach 500 degrees plus quickly if not careful.

Very sturdy TALL cooker. No need to bend over like cooking over a camp fire. the legs are removable to store in a cabinet.

This thing can put out some heat. You really have to watch the temperature. I've used it with a carbon steel wok, cast iron skillets, and a stainless steel griddle. I've been thrilled with everything I've cooked on it. You can get a cast iron skillet up to 500° F in less than 5 minutes. My only problem is monitoring temperature to keep it from getting too hot, and if it's windy out you'll want to use some kind of wind break. I like the way it's put together because it's easy to adjust the legs so the top is level.

This a very good option for frying fish, and other items outside. I’m in love with this idea. I don’t have to spend a fortune to cook tasty fried food. I’m sure it can be used to cook anything outdoors, for barbecue parties, or just your family. It is also very sturdy! Enjoy

We bought this for one reason, to sear steaks and pork after using in a Sous Vide. It will easily get a 12" cast iron pan well over 720 degree's within a few minutes. The only issue is placing a cast iron pan on top will cause the flame to shoot out the lower sides which burns off the coating along the sides. Not sure how you cook on this though, even on the lowest possible setting that will light the burning it gets a cast pan over 500 degree's. There is no real heat control. Adding some space might help, we put a cast iron grill grate between that and the pan and it didn't hurt heating but it did stop the flames from coming out the side.

Don't put too close to house or too close to deck railings. This thing has a lot of power and must be supervised and preferably kids not playing on the deck while in use. But it is great and satisfies my gas cooking needs that the stovetop and oven just fail miserably at. Definitely, always turn off the tank on this unit. Throws out gas fast, so if you were unaware of it being on without flame; good bye Charlie and Sassy, just kidding that shouldn't happen outside unless it is enclosed. Do not use this Unit in any even Partially enclosed space. The unit is good quality but requires excellent supervision. Don't buy this for you aunt or elderly person unless they have no mental deterioration.

The propane burner is well made and very stable for cooking. The flame is very powerful! I do not fully open the regulator that's on the hose to reduce the power. I can then adjust the flame using the control knob. Don't forget to adjust the air mixture valve behind the front panel for an efficient flame.

Had it for 1 year. Works well. it's too powerful. The legs aren't heavy duty but seem to work.

After spending money on 3 different propane furnace i found it the best as quality is amazing and comes with foot which can be use as standing or sitting both positions. Price little high but you will love it.
