Paperback VS Kindle
Heeding the warning from one reviewer I bought the PB version. Since I didn't buy the Kindle version I don't know for sure, but I guess that the index may be in the very back just as it is in the PB. The PB has a table of contents in the beginning. The first 90 pages relate to nutrition, French vs American food, tips, and opinions. Chef Braux is witty and entertaining making the introduction enjoyable to read. Pages 90-242 are recipes, but no photos, making it perfect even for those of us who have antique Kindle models. It took a little getting used to weighing ingredients instead of measuring. Nonetheless, the results are well worth the little extra precision.

Ok
Although this seems like a really good book I need pictures. I make what I see in the pictures, it's hard for me to determine if I'm going to like it or not if I don't see color photos.

Great chef goes Paleo!
I admit before I purchased this I looked up his other book on amazon to see the ratings; they were stellar. I eat paleo and love french cooking. Who knew you could merge both? Great food. Fun prep; not overly hard; different food ideas than other mainstream paleo books. No pretty pics, just lots and lots of good food.

Cinque Etoiles!
Simple. Delicious. Healthy. Easy. One of the only cookbooks I have owned with eagerness and excitement to use. You will be so delighted with this cookbook regardless of your paleo status.

News For Us Normal People
I'm a born and raised typical mid-westerner from the USA. Even though I was a transplant to the eastern coast while still young, my early life with my family did instill certain habits which spilled over even into our food supply. Therefore, yes, all of that meat, potatoes, corn and homemade desserts were standard staples of the everyday diet. Now in those days, every family member, even the extended family, had type 2 diabetes but we had no clue what that really was or why. We had even less knowledge that our diet was the reason for our medical issues either. So at first, when I was asked to take a look and review this new book I really wasn't too sure I was the right person for this job.I did change my lifestyle about 22 months ago to a whole foods diet, as much as I understood it. It was those medical issues which prompted the need. I was determined I was not going to live out the balance of my life, with my final years in ever-increasing pain and with the increasing debilitating symptoms of diabetes. So I searched until I found the Holistic way of returning back to health. Now a farm girl from the midwest has no need for fancy French cooking so my interest was piqued just what does French cooking entail. Is it really something I could fit into my new dietary lifestyle? The overwhelming answer...Yes!Chef Alain has taken many everyday favorites for the masses and shown us a way to not only improve on the normal, but to exceed this goal and make the final result great-tasting as well as good for the health.

Feeling Pampered by the Paleo French Cuisine
Chef Braux, you have done it again! I have stepped out into the world of fully understanding the paleo diet. Not only is paleo cooking nothing to be afraid of, these incredible dishes are healthier, tastier and (so far) kid-friendly!What you have done here, Chef Braux, is turn an opportunity to share delectable food into an educational experience that will ultimately encourage generations of people to become healthier and happier. One of my new favorite recipes is the Salade aux Epinards avec Figues et Noix - Figs, Walnuts and Spinach Salad. With fresh lettuce greens right out of my garden this salad is just heavenly. The Pizza Paleo Fait Maison - Homemade Paleo Pizza received a thumbs up from my 13-year-old, who is gluten-free. His comment, "This doesn't taste like we just made it." Translation: It's better than any other home-made attempt! Now, as a rule, my 11-year-old is pretty easy to feed... as long as there is nothing green (green beans accepted), nothing too spicy and nothing too "weird". Pork tenderloins are one of his favorite dinners so I was pleasantly surprised to see a pork tenderloin recipe. Fortunately, this recipe: Sauté de Porc aux Pruneaux et Marrons - Pork Tenderloin with Prunes and Chestnuts proved to add a healthy twist with added unusual flavors. He was impressed and added, "This really wasn't weird at all even though I thought it was going to be. I even liked the prunes but don't tell my friends." *By-the-way, we used macadamia nuts instead of chestnuts. I think you would approve. As a coconut lover, I have to give you ten stars for these spectacular treats; Pots de Cocos aux Framboises. Coconut Raspberry Pots; Crème au Chocolate Gourmet - Gourmet Chocolate Pudding and Rochers a la Noix de Coco et Amandes - Coconut Almond Rocks. This book, Paleo French Cuisine, deserves to be in every kitchen! Each and every eater, picky or adventurous, will find not only educational support to lead them to a healthier life; they will also find a literal gold mine of food tips and recipes that they will want to share with everyone they know!Pick up Paleo French Cuisine and grab a few extra copies to give to every loved one who deserve a tastier, healthier life! This book is beyond yummy and I am very grateful to you, Chef Alain Braux, for another outstanding contribution to the world of healthy eating!Sincerely,Rhonda SpellmanAutism Advocate, Author, SpeakerAward Winning Author of The Journey Home from AutismColumnist: Beyond the SpectrumAutismWithRhonda.com

A very comprehensive recipe book
The book is quite different from other recipe books. There are no pictures of 'during the making of' or 'end result', so it might be off putting for novice cooks. But the design and layout of the book is very good, it is clear and informative. I believe this is more a daily, practical life style cook book than a beautiful 'food porn' album. The intro and explanation into the paleo background is very comprehensive. I dont agree totally with all the ingredients used, such as dried spices and canned foods (foods that contain mycotoxins) but i believe the recipes are a good starting point and there are many of them. Please note, this is a book for the US market, as some of the terms arent used in the UK or that readily available here. But if you re a foodie that should be a problem and substitution is easy.If you are new to the paleo type diet or simple want to cook with less processed foods (the majority) this is a great starting point.
