Worked when plugged in - Nothing needed adjustment
Replaced an existing 24 Port switch with POE ports that had a fan failure. I removed the existing product, put this in its placed. Plugged in all the cables and all computers on the network worked normally. This switch has programmable features by logging into it. It is a managed switch if you need it to be. I did not need to make any changes. This unit has POE ports which I do use a few for cameras. Another reason for buying is that is a "heavy duty" unit. My router and switches are in service 24/7. For me the Zyxel was a "plug and Play" device. I run a home office but I have multiple computers and printers and use 16 of the 24 ports. I've repaired the previous switch and will use it as a spare.

Perfect for my needs
Great little switch that suits my needs perfectly. Runs silent and the PoE works great. The web UI is decent enough to get the job done and intuitive enough to not have to read any documentation to figure it out. Love that it comes with a rack mount as well.

A really good SOHO/SMB access switch, NOT enterprise grade
Obviously, this is a SOHO/SMB switch company. It's not designed to be a HA, dual PSU enterprise grade aggregation switch with a well known CLI. There are compromises that the purchaser needs to be aware of and do their research first, before slamming someone's work, as if they were intentionally deceived. If you want near enterprise grade, spend the $1200+ for that type of switch. You'll get what you paid for, and it'll last for many years without issues. For example, the GS1900-24HPv2 from Zyxel is 24 ports of active PoE, with a 375W PSU to back up all the ports, and so on.So many of the reviewers can't seem to do the math for TOTAL PoE / ports (130W total power for all PoE ports, using 802.11at; is 12.95W ea @ the device), total power isn't sufficient for all ports to be lit with ~13W of PoE on a 24 port switch at one time. This should be obvious to anyone in networking, or someone that can read the specs on the vendor's website. What attracted me most to this switch is that it's convective for cooling (fanless) as opposed to using fans. It sits right next to my office desk. My former switch was fan based and gave me headaches for months, so it had to go.This Zyxel 1900-24EP switch is a fine 'smart' managed' switching product for SOHO as my "aggregation" switch with plenty of capacity to power my access points, my IP phones and my cameras (8 total PoE devices). It's at a decent price that a technical worker can afford, and is reasonably configurable with a decent GUI and a frankly terrible CLI (like I said previously, not an enterprise grade device). The backplane seems fast enough that I noticed a slight bump in network responsiveness replacing an old Cisco SMB switch with this device.

I like Zyxel, quality products
I had 4 power bricks for POE devices(Yuk) 12 ports of POE and 12 standard ports, fairly easy setup. If you can setup your cable router thru its webpage, you can do this easily.

Feature rich switch at a reasonable cost
The user interface makes it very easy to configure the switches to our needs.I deployed 25 of them through the office with no problems.I do wish it were possible to clone the configuration so as to reduce the setup time.

I bought the Fanless 10HP model to go with a TP-Link Gigabit Ethernet PoE Splitter Adapter (TL-PoE10R) and JacobsParts DC Barrel Jack to Micro-USB B Male Connector Adapter 5V Power Cable 5.5mm/2.1mm.This trio works great for powering Raspberry Pi or Pine64 boards. No more guessing games if the micro-PCs are getting the power they need. From the console. Stock Rpi 3 uses about 2300mw and I was able to boot with this device getting 5000mw from the PoE switch (I could probably tune it down more, but have not tried yet). I'm truly impressed with the full feature set I was not expecting for a switch in this price: 8 GB ports, 2 more GB Fiber uplinks, a full suite of port mirroring, spanning, QoS, VLAN tagging, ... you name it, enterprise layer 2 features!

Great switch for the cost
Great switch for the cost. Full of features.

Good for what it is
This switch is a good layer 2 switch with excellent support but if you need ACL, VLAN, and DHCP capabilities look for a layer 3 switch not this one.
