Good value for money
Great idea to have this in a hard cover as that makes it long lasting but ... if it was also spiral bound it would be very handy for the keyboard / organ console. And possibly in a slightly larger font, but those are minor gripes about, what is, an excellent resource.

Hymn book for Sunday services
I purchased this hymn book for use at Sunday services and am very pleased with the same. The papers in my book are 10 times better than those in my mother's (which are like tissue paper where as mine are like normal 120 gram paper) who bought hers from town for much more than I paid from Amazon. I am therefore over the moon with this hymn book.

A worthy hymn-book
Although entitled "Common Praise" this hymn book was in 2000 the latest edition of the noble Ancient & Modern series. THis is a very good hymn book and a high standard of contents and a good range of ancient and modern. Praise be - there no trite banal unworthy modern worship songs which degrade our corporate worship in the C of E! HIgh standard of musical content as well. The only reason I have given it only 4 stars is that the book has been superseded by the latest version of A&M in 2015. and with its greater range of ancient and modern hymns is preferable to Common Praise and Churches now looking to change their hymn book would surely look to the new 2015 A&M rather than this older book. Even though there are a few good hymn in Common Praise which should have retained in the new A&M which is preferable. The new A&M has nearly 250 more hymns and greater range of contents both old and new. Although sadly they have included some modern worship songs though generally, with the odd exception , they, are the best and most singable of the genre of the worship song which aren't quite as theologically and musically bankrupt as many other modern worship songs that are inflicted on the Church.Common Praise certainly will certainly be acceptable to the traditional, middle of the road and high Anglican Church and this trend of the pendulum swing towards high Church which continues with the later edition of A&M gives the book a very broad range of appeal and is a challenge to the New English Hymnal which is the traditional preserve of the high Anglican Church. Many Cathedrals are currently using Common Praise rather than NEH although I would assume in time, and money permitting, will switch to the new version of A&M.

Hymns Galore!
I was thrilled to receive my copy of Common Praise. It allows me to play on the piano all the hymns I sing at church. Often a choice of tune is given which allows me to play the version I know. It really is the most comprehensive book of hymn music for the piano that I have found. By the way my husband says that I don't always play the right notes!!

Very good for folk who can read music like to sing in harmony if their church uses the basic hymn book
I enjoy singing alto, so have my own copy which I take to my church each Sunday. I made it a material cover, with Velcro fastener and colourful ribbon markers, so I can find the hymn numbers and tunes easily.

Good content, hardware not sophisticated
The book is to small to be used on an instrument. It would have been good to make two books or a bigger one which is more stable on the instrument. This disadvantage makes out the loss of the two starsThe content is what I have expected
